Ok.... if u say so.... but I happened to actually have been driving, so let me reiterate what happened.... driving 70 in middle lane, no wobble, no drag, smooth as silk.... THEN, big LOUD POW! Check side mirror immediately, see trailer slightly pitch/lean to the left... let off gas, slowing apply brakes while checking traffic behind, nothing there so I immediately take it to the far right lane and pull off the road and stop. Get out, see black mark that started what looked to be approx 350 feet... after jacking up and seeing all 5 lug nuts were gone, walked back down the highway approx 500ft or a little more, to the beginning of the black mark... found 2 of the lugs on my side of the road, and seen what I believed to be 2 others across the other 3 lanes of highway but too busy to go over and pick them up.... so, if it blew out sometime prior to that, or I was dragging it sideways down the highway, it gave no indication to me that was the case.... I’m no expert by any means, but I would imagine if you take that same tire and place 350-400lbs of downforce on it, (I had about 700#’s of load), and drag it with at a starting speed of 70MPH with a now shattered, sharp, piece of aluminum pressing down between the rubber and the road, and push it like that for 500-600 feet, I would think that tire would look very much like the one in the pic.... but who knows, perhaps I was dragging it under the trailer for a few miles at 70mph and just didn’t notice it until the last 600 ft. If I lived close enough to where it happened I would go take a pic of the black mark left on the road, or even measure it.
