I would like to thank all those who gave such excellent advice regarding my purchase of a new trailer. In the end, I went with the bumper pull, mainly due to the limited frequency of pulling I do, and my desire to use the bed on occasion while pulling. While I am not into brand promotion, except John Deere I suppose (just kidding), I would say to the group I bought a "Gator-made" brand trailer, which apparently is made in KY. Our local trailer dealer just began selling them, and has had good luck so far. I bought the 18' with two 6000# axles, so it should have no problem carrying my 4520 JD; in fact, I do not believe the tractor could fit on it better. The Gator trailer has a few nice features in a trailer like this including a heavy duty jack stand, vertical ramps and a nice steel lip around the entire deck. It also has nice features like a bump guard around the lights and is electrostatically primed and painted, rather than just painted. In all, I felt a really nice looking trailer for not much more than some that lacked remotely the same features. So far, it pulls well, mostly on short trips, but we will be testing more this weekend with a longer trip. To me, this would be a good trailer to consider for those who are looking at a medium duty equipment trailer.
