Need tips for new tractors

I bought my chains from B-B Chain, which is downstairs in Chappel Tractor. They also run two trucks around the area and will come to you I think.

The double loop chains for my 3710 Ags (12.4-24)were $305. A bit more then tirechains.com but they fit perfectly and there was absolutely no hassle. Unless there is a significant price difference I usually support my local dealers (that way they are more likely to have what I need when I need it).

I had been looking at the type that has short loops connecting the cross links but the chain guy pointed out that they have a tendency to slip on ice. I don't think these have slipped yet!

Thanks for the tips. I'll be sure to look into some chains for the girl when she arrives. Maybe Mears could throw some in with the tractor (wishful thinking). Do the chains hookup to the tires easily? Do you keep them on all year?

Hook-ups aren't too bad. I will probably take the chains off once the ground firms up unless I am going to be in the woods alot. They are a bit bumpy when you are trying to go anywhere.

Winch was great for the little time I got on it (before all the snow piled up and I couldn't play in the woods anymore /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif). Soon as mud season subsides I expect to spend quite a bit of time with it.
