Everyday, I am learning more about what it takes to run a TLB-related business. Everyday, new ideas come up... but new challenges & problems come up as well. My biggest immediate problem is not "getting new jobs" but equipment failures, repairs and badly needed upgrades to become faster, more reliable and cost competitive. It is not a quick process changing over from 33+ year mechanical engineer to successful small business guy running a backhoe. And, of course, like you I am competing with BOTH folks established around here for 30+ years (just ran into one yesterday!) and illegal alien-based operations with absolute zero overhead.

I'll need to see how this proposed part-time job meshes with my business. Unlike Dan, I can't be doing backhoe work at night while working days as an engineer. I'm WAY too old for that!
