Needing rain bad. How bout you?

We badly need rain but a got a much needed boost from the man in charge about 3 hours ago, about 70 minutes of hard downpour, some hail and a lot of lightening. We had around 2" of much needed rain.

We need some rain here too. I finally turned on the sprinkler to the garden today as some of the plants (Cantaloupe) were starting to wilt. I caught it just in time.

So even though it's over 100 out right now. I have the sprinkler on the garden. Hate to do it when it is really hot. But the garden needed some water really bad.

So bring on the rain. lol

Mousefield and I can get together to ship you guys some PNW rainwater... just send us the containers! We can fill supertankers if you'd like.
I just looked at our long range prog- cool and wet until at least July 5th.
"June gloom" is often the way it goes here, although the past 2 Junes have been much wetter than normal.
This weekend, I saw banana slugs crawling around on standing hay that should have been cured and baled by now!:confused3:

Way to much up here, lawn is knee high, and too wet to mow. Would love to spread the water around.

We have been fortunate here in central Oklahoma; we have had intermittent rain all Spring up until now. I have watered a few hot spots in the yard and the garden, but we are good. Last rain about 5 days ago. I have an acre to mow; put 450 pounds of Ammonium Sulfate on the yard about a month ago, am having to mow about every 5 days now. Tomatoes big as softballs and squash without a bug one. Best year for garden I have seen in a long time. Temp in the 100's last couple of days, could use a little more rain to cool things off. Wheat harvest was about a week early, and we have already put up 2 bushels of sweet corn.

Rain? How 'bout precipitation of ANY kind?!

Here on the front range of Colorado, we've had almost no appreciable moisture since February (!). March and April are normally our snowiest months... they were both near zero... really unusual. In the mountains, the snowpack was at 2% (yes, two percent) of normal about a month back, and is now gone. In the last 140 years, the Denver area had had a total of 69 days with temps over 100 degrees; we've had 4 or 5 in a row just now, and had a couple in the preceding weeks, and more coming.

Please say some prayers for the folks who have been affected by the wildfires... 12 significant wildfires in Colorado right now. The one in the national news (the High Park Fire, in north central Colorado) is within a few miles of our home. They seem to have a good fireline on our side... but the folks on the north/northwest sides lost over 50 more homes yesterday.

It's just bad. Makes you count your blessings for the things you have (non-material things).

Mitch; we often get so caught up in our own everyday lives, we forget to pray for others having difficulties. I'm glad you reminded me. It made me stop, think and pray for you guys dealing with the fires. I'm also glad you reminded me to count my blessings. I was fussing about our lack rain and now that seems so insignificant compared to what you folks in Colorado are dealing with.

i had seen some of the news about the fires so bad for all the folks that have lost everything. we need rain bad and what worrys me iss tuesday when the humidity goes way down we cold have some forest fires we very seldom have that type of weather this time of year.

Hmm looks like my plan to round bale everything this year is wrong . better grease up the big square for you guys
