Bite force competition Between Rottweiler, German Shepherd, and Pitbull. - YouTube
Once people have their minds made up about something it is difficult to change their minds, and that applies to you and I. We'll just have to agree to disagree. I am pet-sitting my sisters dog for a few weeks, and it is safely in a fenced in area specifically designed for this dog. If anyone would like to sign a release and stop on over I would be willing to bet that 30 seconds in his pen would change your mind about pits (as previously mentioned, he is a caucasian ovcharka, much more dangerous, imo, due to being more of an independent operator), especially after interacting with our bully bred dogs.
BTW, boxers were bred for bull baiting, essentially fighting bulls. The boxers I've had were the biggest clowns you've ever seen. Fighting is not something they want to be involved in, unless you are a chipmunk or a rabbit. However, the breed WAS bred for fighting, is roughly the same size and probably (my opinion) has around the same psi bite strength. But, people with low self worth wishing to boost their ego's by having the "toughest and meanest" breed of dog don't usually pick boxers. If they did we would probably be having this discussion about boxers. Or Akita's. Or bull terriers. Or mastiffs. Or any one of a number of breeds.
