I was really considering getting a copy of that report.

Never done anything like that though. Not sure how to go about it, or if it costs $$$ or what. I shoudl have gotten a report number before he left. If it happens again, I sure will.

Depends on where you live - each area has its own rules. Last time I got one, the first copy was free if you were the accused and the second copy was $4.00. Where I used to live in Maryland, all copies were $8.00 but you couldn't get one unless your name was on it somewhere. Other places treat it as public record and anyone can get a copy if they pay the copy fee, usually a dollar or two.
Just go to the police station and ask or call them. (but not on the 911 number!)

I am not familiar with the laws in your State but this may help. You can get a copy of the report from the Agency that filled it out. Some municipalities call it an "Offense Report". There is normally no charge. You will be able to obtain the Officer's name, but not his address or phone number. You may or may not be able to obtain the person's identity that filed the complaint. Yes, you are allowed to face your accusers, but this is usually done, if and when it goes to court. This method reduces the liability, just in case the party that was complained about decides to make a visit. Best wishes. BTW, Mollasses works better in a gas tank than Sugar.:D
BTW, most Departments usually allow an Officer, 48 hours to turn the report in. Once again, best wishes.

I would not have given my id, explaining that i was doing nothing wrong and was on my property. that if my id was needed a warrent would be needed.

I have those type neighbors beside me as well. they think i am the annoying neighbor who is illeducated etc etc. Funny thing is the whole town hates them, not me. And her and him thinking im the ignorant "redneck" She a 45ish year old woman who just got her college degree a year or 2 ago and severs as a LAB TA at the local college...says shes a teacher!!! I have 2 college degrees one a post bachlor, i could of been a lab TA in college if i wanted to your nothing special. Does she know anything about me...no. They never ask and i dont brag or mention it. Then all of a sudden they turned and act crazy one day.

She accuses me of killing her roses with my "spray (they spray too and kill my grass and tree)" now i never sprayed her rose and when i spray my fence line the wand never goes higher than waist high if i am spraying the fence but usually held pointing at the ground knee high. I also use glyphosate that has no soil activity and needs to be sprayed on green folliage. Funny thing about all this. I hold a PESTICIDE APPLICATORS LICENSE and shes telling me about all this and over spray, does she know anything about me NO.

I wouldn't get wound up about it they are just skerd of you, city people hide behind the cops he will get over it or he wont, you are not breaking the law.

The id thing is just so they know who the players are its no biggy and its your right to a copy of his report it takes quite a while for them to file them usually so you will get it just may be awhile. hth

I wouldn't be the least concerned about the ID thing. It is easier to do an credible report if you spell the names right and get the description correct. It helps the officer and accurate reports are always good if anything goes to court. Judges around here almost always ask the officer if the litigant was cooperative and it makes a big difference if the officer can say "Yes Sir, very cooperative". That goes over much better than "No Sir, he was arrogant and argumentative."

Might want to check your state laws on providing ID if requested. There is also the possibility even if you are totally innocent you may spend a few hours at the PD/SD if you refuse. Anyone who has worked in law enforcement has had LOTS of people provide false names, so how is the responding officer to know he/she contacted the person about whom the complaint was made?

Partly my fault for not knowing the rights/laws where I live about ID's. I was hesitant and did question it, but I do feel I was cooperative. Maybe I am worrying about that part too much. I just dont feel him needing my ID was necessary. I was on MY property. My address is clearly marked on my mailbox. There would not have been any question as to if he were at the right house.

Playing nice is out the window. As appealing as a silencer would be, that is the opposite of what I want. I need a louder gun:laughing: Maybe I'll fire off the cannon a few times tonight with bread stuffed down the barrel to feed the birds and fish:laughing:

Not sure about the carried in for no id thing, so i wont comment on that.

But i never said i was going to give a false name, just nothing.

But i guess it does not matter they can look up who you are just by acknowledging that its your property and your the owner, its all in the county records anyway?

A number of years ago, I was building a new fence on the back property line. The old guy that lived behind us never maintained anything and I was using the old fence to hold his weeds back as I built my new 6' cedar fence. He called the cops and said I was dumping trash on his property and trespassing. He never said anything to me. The cop came to my house and was ready to haul me in until he heard my side of the story, saw the property line markers and saw what I was doing. He was okay with it and when I asked him why the guy had not just walked over and asked me, he said the guy was a retired LEO from Las Vegas and thought I was a redneck with guns. He did not want to get shot (I never had a gun outside at that property (in town). Some people just need to do it there way no matter what...

The cop must make sure he's talking to the actual owner of the property..
