I carry a Taurus Judge loaded with .410 bird shot, buck shot, and self defense loads in that order whenever I am on my tractor, mower, excavator, or on my properties. Any other time, a S&W 1911 .45 ... It just isn't safe out there anymore.

My "farm carry" gun of choice is my PMR30, I have it sighted in at about 10 feet, mostly for the moccasins I have in abundant supply! It holds 30 rounds in the handle and not much will keep coming with that kind of barrage heading their way! Never know when I'll run into dogs, pigs or a cocky trespasser!!

We had a neighbor about a mile away. They had a big dog, I mean BIG. About the same color as a deer also and it liked to chase cars. It looked like a deer coming out of the corner of your eye. I know one of the neighbors talked to them about it too. I ride bikes on occasion also and it never bite me but I was concerned about it. More than once I thought about swerving the wrong way and putting it out of my misery and if it damaged my truck send them the bill. They moved away, problem solved.

???? Sometimes guns are necessary, think like... Gunsmoke; some crawl, some have four legs, and some have two legs. Killing is only the last solution, and sometimes the only answer. I gave up hunting 30 years ago because I can go to the grocery store instead.

Anyone living in Virginia might need to be concerned about anything to do with using a gun. Even for personal protection on your own property. Of course, the criminals will not be concerned or affected.

Also a second weapon on the tractor, a 12ga. Mossberg Pump "Shockwave" firearm loaded with Winchester's 2 1/2" 12ga 1oz Rifled Slug/00 Buck (3 Pellets) Buffered Shot for when the S.H.F. moment.

Those offended by this, sorry, but I can supply you folks with a good pair of tennis shoes soaked in fresh bacon grease, and oh ya, feel free to walk around Montana in your new shoes...

It is the owner's fault, but in my experience, the owners know exactly what is going on and get some kind of a sick kick out of this antisocial behavior. Since the dog is the one actually committing the deed, they somehow feel shielded from their rightful responsibility. I'd compare it to people that vandalize things when they are sure no one is watching. Of course, when confronted they are outraged and make you out to be the bad guy or worse if they think they can get away with it. It is sad to SSS, but it is probably the best way to deal with it.
