So are you saying you think Jesse hijacked the thread too? How many dog threads do we need? Like I said in previous post unless the op complains why should we care?

No not at all. Small difference in topic as I said and see it.

I'm glad we are on the same page then. It's hard with written word to interpret if someone is being sarcastic or not.

Yes ford man that's exactly whom I'm referring to! Thanks for the mutual concern, I'll do what I have to, it grieves me to kill someone's pet. But if it shows again and behaves in that manner!well it will have numbered days.

Dogs crappin' in your your yard and attacking you/yours are two very different subjects BUT, with a common response from several members that is unsettling. Why do so many want to punish, make sick, attack, shoot, kill the poor dog? The dog is just being a dog! He/she is just doing what it's owner has either trained it to do or allowed It to do.

Why not feed the owner bacon grease covered dog crap, beat him with a bat, spray him with mace, shoot him with paint balls, etc? Well, because you will lose this battle in many ways.

If any of you actually practiced what you would "threaten" to do, you would most likely end up in jail and sued straight into poverty or, if the dogs owner is really crazy worse than that.

Let the local authorities handle it. Put them on notice, in writing, of what has been happening and make them make it the problem of the owner to correct what has happened.

My 2 cents worth.

Would you really, trust another that dosent care to protect your family, how would you feel while your waiting for paperwork a dog shreds your child. Really. You would put your trust in someone else not attached to defend a child from a dog. Just a dog. not a person. A dog. Again, a dog . Have I made it clear were I stand yet. I am going through proper channels first before.

I believe he is referring to the original 'crapping' problem and not yours. Yours is a bit more severe and would be dealt with in a bit more harsh and permanent manner (IMHO).

When I was about 6-7 years old ( early 1950's) our neighbors dog, from about 3/4 mile away kept coming over and getting into our hen house, at night, killing 2-3 hens a night. We caught him three times and tied him up and took him back home. He wasn't an aggressive dog, just killing our chickens. My Dad told idiot neighbor that dog would be delivered dead next time it happened. Sure enough a few nights later the dog came back and killed several hens. My dad shot the dog and delivered him back to neighbor next day. One day later, the neighbor drove up to the end of our lane and when my dog ran down to the end of drive he shot my dog.

Hope you have plenty of friends to bail you out of jail and a rich uncle when the idiots sue you!

Once again, your problem is with the owner and not the poor DUMB ANIMAL!

Do you really not understand what my problem is, is it not clear, duh. Your right it is with the owner, like a drunks problem would be his car. I know it's a dumb animal, but it's the dumb animals teeth that will kill not the owner.to say such stupid things is a wast of my time. Do you really think I care about getting in trouble to keep this dumb animal from attacking my grandson. I doing proper things first if possible bit I'm not waiting for something to happen to get rid of problem. People like you are do nothings, worry about getting in trouble . Who cares about trouble if you feel threatened with bodily harm. Your dad did the right thing, and you can't get past it.and by the way there's a big difference in humans and chickens.

Thanks for the input mostly everyone, I'm done talking. Thank you again

Jesse!

Jesse does bring up a relevant point. Here's a story where a woman tried to do the "right thing" by going to the police, the courts for a restraining order, etc. She feared for her life due to the neighbor's dogs and was eventually killed by them (the dogs, not the owners). The judge that denied the restraining order is spinning the reasons for denying it but the local news stations have been airing bits and pieces of the video from the restraining order hearings. Super sad. Unfortunately, had the victim and her loved ones tried to "take care of the dogs", they probably would have been sued but she would still be alive. And the victim's family will get nothing from the dog owners because they don't look like they have 2 cents to rub together. I'm not sure what the criminal charges are that are pending against the dog owners but last I heard they are out on bail.

More detail on ^
Klonda Richey complained to police about neighbor's dogs 9 times before death | Mail Online

We had neighbors to our right who's Rottweiler would attack our 11 year old border collie. I complained and the owner, who was often drunk. He said it was just dogs playing. I bought some pepper spray in case the dog came onto our property and attacked our dog again, but never used it.
Then one day their dog charged my 4 year old daughter who was outside running around. Dog stopped when I yelled at it, but I called filed a complaint with animal control.

I mentioned the contractors who were on site when their dog attacked ours, and the dog charging my daughter. Their dog got classified as a "dangerous animal" or something, and was no longer allowed off their property and had to be chained when outside. So the guy's wife filed a complaint that our dog was attacking theirs. Animal control called me up, apologized for having to notify me about the complaint, and said not to worry about it. Couple got divorced, sold the house, and moved shortly after that. When my kids, now 12 and 13, go walking alone or with a friend, I try to make them carry pepper spray with them (new can, not the 9 year old one).
