If the dogs are friendly and you can get them in your car take them to a prearranged home somewhere else! Preferably a quote long ways away.

Don't take pictures or anything else that would make them suspect you in the dogs disappearance. Just be be normal, go out of your way to be nice. Spend an afternoon talking about stuff, tell them you are dog dog lovers too. Then when you know their gone pack up the dogs. Like they say, SSS. Never speak of it to anyone not even your wife, they just vanished. HS

SixDogs has the best suggestion that being to make this your neighbor's problem to solve.

Dogs are considered to be property in most states so, kidnapping them opens you up to criminal prosecution probably quickly filed with a civil action to boot.

Statue of limitations have run out on this so I'll tell a storyI had some trash move next to me one time, broke in my home , stole my guns, cash etc,I knew they done it every time I was broke into it seemed they knew I was gone as only a neighbor would know,on several occasions I butted heads with these folks, police visiting there house was common every weekend , cop friends of mine told me they were running a gun smuggling ring, well to make a long story short they didn't like there house broke into, nothing was stolen bit the house was rendered uninhabitable, not saying I done it but the problem was fixed. I never got anything stolen again.

Fences make for great neighbors believe it or not. Might sound odd but it really does work.

All the stuff about punishing the dog, etc is ridiculous. The dog is just being a dog and not pooping on his personal space. If the neighbors wont leash their dog while doing his business, the dog is going to go somewhere as far from his house to poop as he can. 2 acres of fencing isn't a bankruptcy cost to anyone. We have 40 acres fenced in to keep our dogs in and others dogs out. It makes for peace in the community especially since one neighbor insists on keeping pit bulls even though they have been a problem in the past, think lawsuits, sheriff visits and finally dog killing.
The Paul Harvey story is that after several fines and warnings to keep their dogs penned up, they (3 Pitbulls) came to my next door neighbors house (this before we moved here)attacked his dog, whereby he shot and killed one of them and the other 2 ran home. He went over to the dogs home and shot the remaining dogs in the owners front yard and then told him to call the cops if he wanted. NO charges were filed against the "killer of dogs" but the stupid folks later got some more pit bulls and continue to let them roam unfenced. So far I haven't seen or heard of them causing problems.
This kind of situation is easily fixed by just using a fenced yard or small dog run for the offending dog. A chain link fence can be put up for about $2 per foot if you use T-post to hold the wire and not the expensive rails and hardware that is sold for installation. I put mine up this way and it is effective and it isn't an eyesore. I used over 400 feet of this on my road frontage and the rest of the property is net wire fencing about the other mile of fencing. Price per foot is about the same for net wire as the chain link when just figuring the wire cost.

I won't be shooting anyone's dog, and one can spend as much as they wish to keep their own critters in, but I can assure you I won't be spending any money to keep someone else critters out.

Those of you advocating the "3 Ss" left out the "big C"....for cowardly. It's not the dogs fault, so why take it out on it?

Be a decent person, talk to them, and if that does not work, utilize these things in society we call "laws".

Also note that ins MOST states the only times you can legally shoot someone else's dog is if they are attacking/threatening a person or if they are harassing livestock. Otherwise, you could be in trouble with the law if you kill their dog and get caught.

You bring up a very good point, in that if you shoot and kill something you had better be ready to accept whatever consequences follow.....or you could use the big C and not admit your actions. I am all for eliminating a true threat, but also have utmost respect for my weapons and the proper use of them.
