Netscape Problems

I tried to get to TBN using Netscape 4.7 twice today and both times got Illegal Operation messages - then Netscape shut down. Is this happening to anyone else? Also the Deere ads are causing the links underneath the dropdown part to be non functional in IE 5.0 (not sure if it is the same with Netscape). I know other have complained about this so I am just adding my voice to the aggravated.

Yes, I am having the same problem the last 2 days. I had to give up on Netscape and use IE to access the forum tonight.

I can test it in Netscape (the forum) and it works fine. Which pages specifically, are you getting that error on?

We're working/waiting on the fix for the links under the ad.

My Netscape problems happened as soon as I clicked on the TBN link on my personal toolbar. It links directly to my TBN Control Centre. Today, on another computer, it seems to be fine. The intermittent problems are the most challenging!!

I have also had to switch to IE for surfing TBN. I have two computers and neither of them will work with TBN anymore if I browse with Netscape. I get a message about an 'illegal operation' and then Netscape shuts down.

Now that I think of it, my internet provider sent me a notice a while back that they would no longer support older versions of Netscape. I ignored this because I was'nt quite sure how it would affect me. It's got me wondering. I'll see if I have the same problem with Netscape and other sites.

FWIW - I'm using Netscape 4.7/Mac (one of the less robust browsers) even as we speak, and with the minor exception of the JD ad, all is performing as it should. /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

Just got home and did some testing. Netscape 4.7 will surf other sites with no problem. Any attempt to go to a TBN page results in a message 'illegal operation, program will be shut down' and there it goes. Strange, indeed. Good thing I have IE also.

The problem still exists! As soon as I click on TBN bookmark, I get the "Illegal Operation" notice, and Netscape shuts down.

I have pretty much abondoned all attempts to use netscape because of this problem. I don't understand it, but at least there is an alternative (IE).
