The dead furrow is the furrow left by the plow when you make your final pass plowing the field.

Many older plows still have the moldboards, shins, points etc available brand new, thats what I was refering too, but if insurance is buying, may as well get new or nearly new.

Did he miss his JD 318? I am missing my TN70A. Had less than 600 hours on it,
stored in a barn, out of the weather. It was perfect and tough.

Not really. Once he drove that foot pedal controlled Hydro he liked it and it had
a bigger deck. He didn't live long enough to really get to enjoy the X540, Pancreatic
cancer got him, once he found out he lived 6 months, Mom passed away in Feb. '09
and Dad passed away exactly 3 weeks later from the cancer and a broken heart.
