Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Deere. Ive had three new ones over the years and they seemed to keep getting cheaper on every model. These new models that they are selling i think are over priced pieces of junk with too much plastic and aluminum components. Like every other company that "gets too big for their own good" Quality and value go out the door for the sake of profits. I also know that the dealer makes or brakes a product no matter how good it is. I think the kind of failures that you experienced are down right inexcusable for the low hours of use on them. I know all Deere rear ends use cast aluminum housings that depend on complex computer design to get their strength. Also how many parts are made in china? I have an old 655 and there isnt one part on it made in china. The quality back when it was built was great. Back in the good old days when quality mattered. I hope you make out good with Deere on the breakdown and hope they make it right! I love the green and yellow and all but have a bad taste in my mouth for this new stuff they are selling. Sorry to hear, I had similar issues with a NH TC45DA, I wanted to burn it.. It is always possible to get one with problems, no different than a new car or truck, when I get a good one I tend to hang on to it for fear of getting new and wishing I had kept the older one that worked..

They brought the tractor back today. 1 month and 1 day after it broke. I'll let you know how it performs it's raining today so I won't get to test it. Still waiting to hear form John Deere.

Let me tell you my story. I bought a used 955 that the salesman of the John Deere dealership took me to go and check out because he knew it was a good deal. I used it for a few years and during my busy time an internal pto drive shaft broke. The salesman loaned me a new 4600/4610. I don't remember which exact model but I do remember that they loaned me a tractor. About a week later there was a dealer audit by John Deere head quarters and they wanted to know where this tractor was. Well the manure hit the fan and the dealer came and got the tractor and cleaned it all up. I was told that I should be billed for the clean up and the hours of use etc. etc. Several month's later and still no bill so I asked the salesman about it. He said just keep your mouth shut and so I did.

This all sounds a bit unbelievable I know, but it's actually what happened. The only thing I need to add is that the salesman was my brother. When the time came to trade in my 955 for a 4410 I didn't haggle about the price or anything. I figured they had covered my back above and beyond with that loaner.
