....and I hope it is an isolated problem....just wish it wasn't happening to me. I really love the tractor, and it has done everything I have asked it to with ease. I, as well as several others, was very suprised that Deere had factory shipped a new motor in that short amount of time. As a friend of mine was telling me about his father's Deere having a problem a few years ago...they ended up having to put a new motor in it as well......and they had it back to him in no time....he was really impressed in the quick response and they way that he was treated. The dealer told him, "That's why you buy a Deere." It actually makes it feel like someone cares!

It sounds like your dealer and Deere are making it right. Sometimes things just happen. The sales manager came by and looked at the TC45DA today from the other dealership that is close. By close, I mean one's 50 miles and the other is 60 miles. Seems like a real nice guy. He said blue looked just like a new tractor. He couldn't get over it and would give me the best price he could. We'll see though. I've heard this before.

I have a WR Long 72 " 4 in 1 and I use it like a dozer all the time. I have ballest in all 4 tires and and leave my 1600 lb mower on the back for more weight. You will lose traction before you loose power. I do most of my work in B Range and never at PTO speed. The R4's are not the best at traction but offer more support then stock R1's.

Install a belly pan if you work in the woods, too many hoses/pipes under the hydro otherwise.

FWIW The dealer told me today he would NOT put a MX7 on a 4720. He insist it's too much! I was surprised. Looking at MX6 4-in-1 and a BB3272 that should all imatch. Saturday I am going to test Kub L5740 and 4720, both open, with wife. She will be on it quite a bit also. Right now the Kubota with Woods "Medium-Duty" 840 Brushbull and XB77 box is MORE than I ever thought! Kubota's TnT and a few xtras really add up. Frankly, I am ready to get this done. Barn should be ready in a couple weeks...if it stops raining.

edit: (Sorry if this is off topic here..."4720 cab"). both units with sealed and watered R4s.

Have you heard back from them James? I'm guessing their offer was about $2-3K less than you thought it would be. You'll almost always be better off selling it yourself. Only you can decide what the hassle of selling something is worth to you. You have to remember, they want to make some money off your tractor too for having to process it thru the dealership. My dealer will sell on consignment for I think $500.

I almost traded up a couple of years ago, they offered me about $2K less than I wanted for my trade. I had to tell myself, they can get the same tractor new from JD for not much more (at their cost). Anyway, I thought the only way to get myself such a good deal was to buy the tractor I wanted slightly used from an individual.

Your right Kyle. The other Deere dealer offered me 15,000 for the TC45DA. I just laughed and told him I could not give it away. I think I'm just going to trade it in with the first Deere dealer. I have listed it in the paper and only had one call. Seems like the market around here is slow on used tractors.

Several of the dealers I have visited have used MX7's on 4720's. Even the specs in the Deere brochures seem to agree with this.

The third function will be controlled from the joystick. This option places the buttons on the joystick. It is a new offering from Deere. The salesperson I'm working with had to make several calls. Cost was $900.00 with a 67.00 discount. Hoses are still ran to the 3rd rear SCV.

I'll take pics when it gets here.

Do you have pics of the joystick? How about some JD model #'s....My salesman said that kind of joystick is only available on 110 models...Help me cause I am ordering my 4720 with 4N1 in the next week or so and REALLY want your joystick!!! Here is a pic of someones joystick on ebay...

I hate telling the salesman he is wrong, even after I send him these pics?!?!

James,

I have a 4720 (if you search my other 2 posts, you will see that my baby is having a new motor installed), and I got the 400cx loader with the 4 in 1. It was the first one of these buckets that my dealer had sold. After I got the tractor, the first job that I did was pick up some debris after having some stumps ground out. After that first use, I told myself that it was worth every penny and that I wouldn't want another tractor without one! Then I went and picked up some logs for the neighbor and moved them....didn't have to get off the tractor!

How do you control the 4N1? Buttons on joystick or 3dr lever? Pics please? Need help.....
