unless I am missing something, my new 7610 doesn't have any armrests. Maybe the dealer didn't send them. HA

I know I'm kind of jumping on the thread late...but the funny thing is I have used my B2910 A LOT...REALLY A LOT... and the hour meter just passed 315 on the B2910.

Now the little bx...well I have not used it that much but already it has almost 50 hours on it!

Linerar time sure goes by faster than tachometer time!

As far as seat time I suppose with both I get about 8 hours seat time for each five gallons of fuel used... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Guess gallon per seat time hour must be the true measure.... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Burk - it is also difficult getting the mid pto in gear, but seems to be getting better.

I now have 5 hours on my 7610. My dealer said to go ahead and run at 2400 rpm and we tried it today. The blade lift definitely seems to be better.

My wife got to use it this evening, and had a big grin on her face /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I can tell that she is going to want her share of seat time!

The dealer has not been out yet to check out my hydraulic issues. The only day that worked for me so far didn't work for them!

Do you guys typically mow in hi or low gear? We like the speed of hi, but you really get bounced around more than my old 445. It must have something to do with the longer wheelbase.

Regarding the meeting in Grove City next month, I keep on forgetting to ask the boss to see if anything is going on that weekend. It seems that every weekend has a niece/nephew birthday or some other "important" event! If nothing is going on i'll try to make it.

No, the bigger tractor has a stiffer ride, my 2410 rides harsher than my BX. It is those R4 tires I think.

I mow in high range but not with the pedal down to the floor /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. I mow at 5 MPH or so, maybe 6 on smooth ground--well below top speed. If you are careening around at full speed no wonder it rides rough /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. If you want to mow at that speed you should have gotten a Hustler Fastrac etc. Hmmmm. J

Actually, my wife and I both feel that mowing in low gear is a more enjoyable experience and provides better results. We just noted that the 7610 was much harsher than the 445 when pushed.

We thought about getting a ztr quite a while ago, but was not the casual and laid-back mowing experience that I enjoy. I spend all day dealing with frustrating employees, clients, contractors and phone calls and need a break. For me, mowing with a tractor does that. Plus, the ztr's ride was absolutely horrific at fast speeds! Hehe, maybe I need to be better about rolling the lawn!

It certainly makes sense that frame stiffness is more the cause of this than wheelbase differences.

"It certainly makes sense that frame stiffness is more the cause of this than wheelbase differences."

I know little about the JD 400 series tractor styled lawn mowers as to frame stiffness. I do know the BX is at least as stiff if not stiffer than my 2410 and the 2410 rides rougher. I figure, like I said, it is the R4 tires. They will stand up even with the air out of them. Inflated they are not much different than having a steel tire like old time tractors had /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

If I tried to mow this place in low range I would be out there till the cows come home and died. J

I should have mentioned this in my last post, I have turf tires on my 7610 not R4's.

My experience with my B7500...

- Mow in Low, pedal to the floor.
- Keep RPM's at lowest when engaging PTO, then throttle up after PTO is engaged.
- "Double-Clutch" prior to engaging Mid PTO, and push on lever just before bottoming out tyhe pedal on the second push... It'll slide right in.

Mowing in low is way too slow.....

For me anyway.... The beauty of the hst is to speed up through the straight smooth areas and slow for turns, obstacles and other things needing slower speed.

Then I expect it rides easier than mine but nonetheless if you go fast it is going to bounce. I think the turf tires have more bounce to them, the R4s have a stiffer ride. Try adjusting your air pressure and might consider getting them filled. I would just slow down. J
