Kubota should be heavily discounting the B21. Unless that has dropped the price of used B21 considerably, I would not go near a used one.

BX24 is much lighter than the B21. Do you have a small yard?

Asking Price $25,590.00
60 months @ 5.99% equating to $499.11 per month

Our discussion revolved around a mid July purchase and the anticipation that he could locate a new B21 in New England at that time. He does not have a new B21 to sell.

My wife and I have no experience with a TLB. Our property could justify a much larger TLB, but our tractor inexperience and our project list are far better suited to the size of a B21.

The property is 15 +/- acres, and its terrain is varied. It is flat, hilly, sloped, rough, smooth, rocky, wet, dry, ~70% wooded, and ~30% open. It's NH at its best. We expect to clear another ~15% of the acreage, but I'll most likely hire that effort out. One hernia from previous tree and rock work is enough for me. Our tractor would be used for clean-up purposes and planting some new trees thereafter.

Since I have no plans to remove the backhoe from the tractor, I think the B21 is our best choice. We just would not make use of the additional features offered with the B7800 [such as the mid-mount PTO, the additonal h.p., or cruise control].

Not that I got a great deal or anything, as I bought my L39 when they first hit market and I purchased in N.E, but I got $1,000 off list and a box blade and chain saw at a really good price, all at 0% for 3 years.

I think $22,500 is the right price for the B21, and it could not hurt to make them stew. Try that as your "top" offer.

I must update everyone by saying that we are now leaning toward a May '08 purchase of the B26, instead of the B21. I cannot afford a B26 this summer as planned. We budgeted for the B21 price range.

After a recent discussion and some in-depth comparisons between the B21 [which I like a lot!] and the B26 [which I like even more!], I am beginning to think that the B26 targets our specific needs and expected uses even better.

This is a one time purchase for us. We cannot afford to do the trade-up approach. The tractor we purchase has to exceed our present needs and allow for some add-on attachments to address potential needs in the future.
I really think the B26 would do that quite well.

Congratulations! The B21 is legendary. It is a commercial unit and it has twice the weight of the BX22, BX23 or BX24. The B21 is a great choice at a reasonable price.

I know your probably thinking "Why the heck didnt he get a B26?". Well I feel like I got a pretty good deal, as well as 1k rebate and 0%.

Congrats on your new B21. I would have done the same as you since the B21 was in the last year of production, it was made for many years, you could assume they had all the bugs ironed out 100%.

I too was considering a backkhoe for my Kubota 4310....but I started reading some of the postings on how the rear of the tractors were being broken I said I dont think so. Well the next thought was a mini excavator, digging is what its made for. Well I bought a used IHI 28J for abought the price of a add-on backhoe. Now when Im doing a project I dont have to reposition the tractor I can just crawl along and also it swings 360 degrees which is nice when loading my trailer.Well I also thought that I could use it for 2 years and sell it for about what it costs, well I dont think the 2 years will ever come , its just to fun and handy to have. Also my wife wont use it but she is always thinking what I can do with it.So you might want to think that route, Ive seen some nice ones on ebay 3000 to 4000 # machines for $7500- 10000.
