New B3030HSDC

The reason the B3000 looks the same is because Kubota was already using the sheet metal from the B3030 for the newer 'swoopier' tractors (B2320-3200).

I would also bet that the drivetrain is 100% identical to the older models, they have a good design that they have been using for 20+ yrs now, so I doubt they change it too much. Probably just minor cosmetic things and a few different widgets, similar to the upgrade from B7800 to B3200.

Wow! You can get a B3030 with the quarter inching upgrade! How cool is that? :D:D It does look like there will be a factory backhoe option, and perhaps some other nice things too.

I decided not to "upgrade" to the B3000 cab model at this time.

I spec'd out the new version of my current machine, with few upgrades - a cab, the rear wheel spacers for better chain clearance, front valves for my FEL mounted plow, and the mechanical thumb. $35K was the best I could do. So essentially, the cab has turned into a $10K option in the last 3 years.

Then I read Waxman's comments about the dust getting into the cab, and I have serious dust here, so that would have probably been a big issue.

I also didn't like how far they pushed the backhoe out to fit with the cab, just like Woods had to do on the B3030 cab. That was an issue for me back when I bought mine, and as it is, even with my BH75 tucked in around 12" closer to the back of the machine, the front of the machine is too light with an empty bucket on a lot of my terrain, cutting down on productivity.

Guess I'll hold off a while longer and see if Kubota eventually adds a cab to the B26 and upgrades to a 30-32 hp engine.

Please excuse my ignorance.

What is "Quarter Inching" ?

I have been drooling for years over the B3030HSDC. I talked to a local dealer and he said he has the new B3000HSDC in stock.

He did mention that there was no big difference between the 3030 and the 3000.

So I ask..... why did Kubota bother ?

Tractor Smart has a definition of position control etc, but not quarter inching. Quarter inching allows you to raise or lower the 2 Point Hitch in 1/4 inch increments by bumping the lever against a stop.

On Position Control the lift goes up commensurate with the position of the lever and remains there, a 1/4 inch will allow the 3point hitch to drift down over time.

ChuckinNH has a good post on the 1/4 inching 3PH, here is the link:

TripleR,

Thanks for the info, and the link.

I appreciate it.

There is a Dealer about an hour away from me who has a brand new B3000HSDCC in stock.

I am going to try to go see it next week.

They are surely nice little tractors, my wife and I have discussed getting one, but she can't bring herself to part with her much loved BX2660 and we can't afford both.

The HSDCC has some really nice features which the HSDC doesn't such as the position control 3PH, telescoping lift arms, work lights standard as well as standard arm rests.

Now it's just a matter of price and getting "MY" other half convinced of the need of a tractor with a cab.

I just spent $3800 in repairs and maintenance on my B2150 last spring.

That makes it even harder to sell my wife on the idea.

Fortunately, my wife likes tractors and the farms as much as I and when it gets really busy in the summer, she will run the GL5030 HSTC while I run our M8540HDC.
