Well, I have until Monday to think and call the dealer. The model on the floor had the 54" on it, I don't think they swapped the 48" on since the mulch kit was on order.
Either way, I'll be happy with a new 'bota.

So what have you come up with on the disc harrow?I've decided I want/need a 60" 16 blades with 16" blades around 500-525 lbs. So far pricing has been from $550 to $700 but haven't been to Barlows yet. Will go there tomorrow or Thursday. What am I not entering into my decision making process?

JT, I think you have factored things pretty well. To work well, in heavier soils, the disk itself needs to be heavy, the heavier iron the better. Width is not as important as weight. Thus, choose a heavy, heavy 48" over a wimpy 60"???

Picking those 5-600 pounders up, at the row head quickly, can sometimes be a bear for a lighter duty tractor. Oh, and pulling them will take more traction than most every other duty. Best regards

The 48" Landpride DH1048 is 421 lbs with 12 16" or 18" discs which they have factored out to 35lbs per disc ground contact and the 60" Landpride DH1060 is 533 lbs with 16 16" or 18" discs which they have factored out to 33 lbs per disk ground contact. Figure the difference in the 16" vs 18" discs is for deeper cut? I'll just be cutting upper level of sod/grass so I won't need a deep cut if that's the difference. King Kutter 12 discs 16" 54" wide is 400 lbs and KK 66" wide 16 16" discs 460 lbs. Tarter Gate 60" 16 14" discs is 407 lbs. The Landpride seems to be the heaviest for the size. I have/had a Landpride 6'RFM and it's a tank. Anyone swear by any of the brands, sizes mentioned?

Congrats on your BX1860...I'm sure you will love it, I sure love mine. If the space you have allows it, I would also go with the 54" mower. The ability to turn the wheels to roll the deck out is a nice feature. Having said that, I do have the 48" and it works fine for me...., plus it is about 100 lbs lighter then the 60" I previously had I think. I chose to get the 48" due to the tight quarters in my heavily landscaped yard. My deck is already scratched up in one year of use....it is that tight. It's also one of the main reasons I traded my old BX2230 with the 60" deck, I was tired of having to push mow all the places it would not fit.

I hope you have good results with the mulch kit and please post your observations....It did not work well for me...luckliy the Kubota mowers do cut nice without the mulch kit and throw the grass far enough out that it doesn't leave much residue behind.

The dealer called today, all is prepped and ready for delivery Wednesday!
Just a few more hours until my tractor arrives. I have yard work piling up ready to be taken care of. Today the tree company dumped a truck load of wood chips in my driveway per my request, I guess I'll be moving that tomorrow,
