Mowing New BX2360 Not Mowing Well

Lets hope its a simple fix for the time and money involved.

After four cuttings it has to be one of the above mentioned items for sure.

I agree here with many posters, and some I dont agree with.

My :2cents: -
- engine rpm's? 3200? no lower then 2650-2800. I run mine at 2800 when cuttiing 1/3 or less. If it tall grass, full 3200 rpms with mower engaged.
- check blades conditions? installed right way, bolts on tight? check with 30MM socket.
- check the height adjustment. on level driveway, measure the outer most blade tip farthest out and check the other side. they must be nearly perfect for good cut. (mine was good when I got it for a few years and something went out of whack last summer in middle of year and I adjusted it and it was good since)
-did you grease the deck ? (least likely but important for well running mowing deck) You want all 3 spindles to be spinning on grease.

My month or so old BX2360 mows well. I mow at 2400 rpm, 2.5 inches, dry lawn only at a slow speed. I have the fine cut deck, clipping are, fine.

If you are mowing fairly short dry lawn and are having this problem, it's mechanical. You have a new machine, call the dealer and have him fix it.

Mow with the engine wide open, unless the grass is pretty dry. The only way I have found to keep the blades tight is with the impact wrench. After I sharpened my blades the first time, I didn't get the center one tight. It seemed O.K., but the cut finally got so bad, I could tell something wasn't right. The blade was loose. I tightned it again, but it came loose again, so I put the impact on it and really socked it down. No problems now.

I have an air compressor, so I already had an impact, but they make electric impacts that work well, but aren't cheap, and you want a good one.

Correct torque on the MMM blade bolts is 75-80 ft. lb. per owners manual.

The biggest trick is to get the outside hex washer lined up on the spindle. Make sure to clean any trash off of the spindle, blades and washers to get a good fit. If everything is clean and the washers are in the right order and lined up on the shaft it should stay tight with the proper torque. I use an impact but I don't get to crazy with it.

BX weighs more than 318. Adapt your mowing technique accordingly. More RPM and slower ground speed...especially when grass is "lush." Had a 318. My BX mows better...but I had to change my style...

Yes that's true. I cut in low range WOT every time. Sometimes the garden tractors can do a better job if you're in a hurry. The other side of the story is that the Kubota will last forever if you take good care of it.

The mowing techniques are quite different with one of these.

Keep in mind that the tractor is REALLY heavy in comparison to a garden tractor, so the grass does get somewhat mashed down by the tires...I usually have a beer when I'm done and cut the front yard in the opposite direction to deal with grass standing back up. Then grass is happy and I'm happy.

Thinking about finding some kind of upgraded blade. Not a big enough issue to cause concern though.

High grass in the spring comes out like a fire hose with no bogging or clumping. That alone makes me happy.

I have a bx 2350 mid deck 60 inch mower. Yesterday it looks as if the middle blade quit cutting. Any ideas

Blade bolt is probably loose. There are several posts above on how to tighten.
