My dealer here was convinced until late in the game that the engine would be the D1005 from the B2660. The D902 for the
BX25 has been upgraded in some way to conform with Tier 4 emission standards:
"Tier 4 Standards. On May 11, 2004, the EPA signed the final rule introducing Tier 4 emission standards, which are to be phased-in over the period of 2008-2015 [69 FR 38957-39273, 29 Jun 2004]. The Tier 4 standards require that emissions of PM and NOx be further reduced by about 90%. Such emission reductions can be achieved through the use of control technologies擁ncluding advanced exhaust gas aftertreatment耀imilar to those required by the 2007-2010 standards for highway engines."
As an individual I want to do what I can to lessen the impact on the world as I tool around on my extravagant toy. Forget more HP - we don't need more - the emission controls are worth considering as a benefit to be gained with the
BX25. Especially as, combined with the other improvements it does not cost a lot more to be cleaner.
I love the smoother HST - merely like the loader idle thing - and am sorry not to have the B2660 seat. I am thrilled with the
BX25 - and I am sure I would be with the
BX24 too but I thought, heck, it's a once in a lifetime splurge, go for the latest.
