Tractor
Kioti Lk3054, 1952 Ford 8n
Purchased this on Tuesday and bought a grapple too. Dealer was about 3.5 hours away. I love this thing. But I’m also comparing it to a 32 y/o Kioti LK3054 😂. Like comparing a F450 to a pinto.
It was supposed to have delivered today, but the dealer messaged and said it won’t be until next week and couldn’t give me a solid day or time when because he had to talk to the driver. I paid $800 for delivery. I took the day off of work to be here when it was supposed to be. But next week I’m going to be slammed at work and I won’t be able to accept delivery until after I’m home from work. I’m a little disappointed. I only paid the delivery because it was supposed to be delivered today. Wasn’t informed until around noon. Had I known it wasn’t, I would’ve just went and got it today with the gooseneck and saved a few dollars.
Is this a normal thing, being delayed? Possible stall tactic because something was found during the PDI check? This is my first new tractor purchase, so everything is new to me.
Thanks!

She's a beaut!! Congrats!

In terms of the delays, it happens. I went through it. I wrote a check in full for my TYM T224 on July 1st. It was sitting right there on the dealer's lot. It took 2 months to take delivery because of a problem they found during PDI with the loader. I believe it would have gone on longer had I not done my own investigative work, contacting the area rep, etc.

My guess is either being the end of the year, there was something that was ordered to complete your tractor and got held up due to corporate shutdowns or dealer staff took days off and sales didn't anticipate.
Another thought, which is all too commen, the sales department promised something they couldn't deliver. Basically, they didn't talk to the service department.

Salespeople did it all the time when I was a service manager. "But I promised the customer....."

That is a machine I would gladly wait for ;-)

Me too. I even like the color. Love those wheel weights and I believe that is mechanical self-leveling on the FEL?
It's beautiful...can't wait to hear some more about it.

That is a nice looking tractor!

I have had 4 dealer pick up/delivery experiences, all with their driver. In all cases they put me in touch with the driver to work out details. So there were no surprises. I was lucky enough not to have to take any time off to deal with it.

Hard to schedule around the holiday season with time off and deliveries. Even if they didn't have a problem, if the wrong guy called out, you're stuck.

I had a new PTO chipper that was supposed to be here last week, but didn't make it until Monday. Fortunately, I didn't have to worry about time off. They (FedEx) called the day before and explained they were 'off'. No rush, so it didn't matter. I've been there, though. PODs had all of our possessions, save a few clothes. They didn't make the day (we both took off from new jobs). 3 days later they finally showed up. No communication. Will never use them again.

I’m not sure about the mechanical leveler. The controls are electric over hydraulic. Thing was extremely smooth to operate.

Mechanical self leveling linkage.

Congrats to the OP.

This is indeed a great tractor. It's just too bad they only offer the 12x12 mechanical shuttle transmission in the US for some reason. Why not offer either the Power Shuttle 15x15 or 30x30 as well?

One of the biggest features of these Deutz tractors is definitely the wet brakes in all 4 wheels.

I’ve only been speaking to the salesman. He told me they use a hot shot guy for deliveries.

I have never owned or operated a Deutz tractor but I have always liked them.
Yours looks very nice in the picture, how many horsepower is it ? Exactly what model is it ?
There used to be a dealer selling them about 5 miles from me, he doesn’t sell them anymore but he still services them.

Nice tractor & FEL. I never heard before now of a dealer charging for delivery of a new tractor BUT 3.5 hrs away is a decent amount of distance to travel. I think if I had correct size truck & trailer I'd pick tractor up & ask for a $800 refund.

I have the truck and a trailer capable of hauling it. Was promised a Friday the 3rd delivery and I really didn’t feel like driving 3.5 down and 4.5 back. But I’m really thinking about going and getting it this coming Saturday if I get a lame excuse tomorrow when I call to find out what’s up.

Congratulations on your new tractor. Glad you got the grapple. I never cease to be amazed at all the limbs and fallen trees one can remove. You will like the 4 wheel brakes on the steep land. Like you I shopped several different colors before getting my Deutz. The standard features were all (big) nickel and dime additions with the other dealers. Sorry to hear about the delivery issues but after a few hours on your new tractor hopefully this glitch will fade. I will suggest attention to the owners manual. Since mine was my first modern tractor in over 20 years I quickly found things were a little different than what I was used to on older tractors.

Did you get a Deutz as well?
