Tractor
John Deere 4200 MFWD HST w/ JD 420 FEL w/ 61" loader bucket & toothbar & JD 37 BH w/ 12" bucket
My new first choice box blade arrived and I picked it up from the shipper last night. I left it on my trailer overnight so I could take some pictures in the daylight for everyone. What I have are pictures of it BEFORE dealer preparation (which, in the case of a box blade is probably all of a 5-10 minute task at worst).

I have to say that at first sight I am thoroughly impressed with this unit. The fit and finish and welds are all first class. The blade is two-way. The ripper/scarifiers are very heavy duty and come with replaceable tooth caps just like my toothbar for my loader bucket. It's nice to know I won't have to buy a new shank if I break off a tip on something.

Truth be told, given the way this is made I think my tractor would likely come to a stop before something like that would happen, but it's nice to know, anyhow.

I should have some better pictures of it tomorrow in it's proper form, but I wanted to get these up ASAP since there's been so much talk here about First Choice.

Well, I didn't forget to add the attachment. Apparently in my efforts to get as high a quality pictures as possible so you could all see what impressed me so much I created pictures that were good enough to get the "File too big" error message. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif The files as I have them are 88KB to 192KB in size.

If anyone can tell me how to solve this, I'll be very grateful as I'd really like to show everyone what I have here. I'll try to set my camera at a lower level tomorrow and see what transpires then. I'll still take the high quality photos in case there's a way to get them on here. I'll keep my fingers crossed on that.

Gary,

Whatever software you are using should allow you to resize the photo after it is taken. I take photos at the highest quality and then those I want to post I just resize to get below the 150K mark.

Give it a try, we'd love to see them!!!

The 88kb picture should go by itself.

For the other file, just open it in your graphics program and reduce it's size by 10%, save it, and see how big it is. If it is still larger than 150kb, reduce by 10% again. Keep doing that until it is less than 150kb. Then it should upload.

If you can't do it with your graphics program, e-mail it to me and I'll do it for you.

Go here and download the free image optimizer. It works great for compresson of jpg files.

I'm glad you're pleased with your new box blade. Just a tip for setting it up. Mount the hitch loosely, with all bolts AND pins in place before tightening the bolts. Tighten the lower bolts first making sure the pins go in and out easily, then tighten the top bolt with the bushing last. This brings everything into alignment correctly. Enjoy!
