It's the same as it was before, but you need to modify the URL of the Main Index, and then bookmark that.

To display specific categories ONLY:

Take the Main Index URL and add a category to the end. E.g. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/index.php?Cat=1,2 will display ONLY the General Forums, and the Kubota Forums.

Same thing for the rest, but using the following category numbers:

General Forum = Cat 1
Kubota = Cat 2
New Holland/Ford = Cat 3
John Deere = Cat 4
Group Forums = Cat 5
Other Brands/Equipment = Cat 7
Other Forums = Cat 8

So again, to display ONLY New Holland/Ford, Group Forums, and Other Forums, you would use this URL: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/index.php?Cat=3,5,8

And remember... once you set your Main Index to display a specific category, no matter where you go in the forums, you will only be shown messages or threads from those forums. For example, all searches will be for those forums only.

HTH,

Is there something I'm missing for the themes? I went to edit and put in the JohnDeere forum and still default. Put in a few more but it always goes to the grey and blue default.

It is definitely faster. May take me awhile to get used to it, but one change I've noticed is the fact that if I click on a "new" message, I go to the first message in that thread rather than directly to the new post as it used to. If I click on the original post in a thread, then scroll down to the new ones, the new ones are marked as being new, but if I click on the new one, I still start with the original post, but when I scroll down, the new ones are not marked as being new. Is that the way it works for everyone else?

Well if I'm not the first to try it I must be close!

After wishing I was more creative but not being able to change after the fact, I decieded to try it now that it is possible...looks like I now have a new face!

not being computer literate, an not sure what that means, update your book marks, think i got it right, but who knows? another thing is i keep looking in the left pane and looking at reg. date and think it last post date. have to get used to the posting date being where it is /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I had my signature with the code
and it was showing the last bracketswith the text color changed to red so i had to delete the last bracket to get rid of it on posts and still retained the desired color!
Evidently a bug in the script!

Didn't I see you on Countrybynet during the down time? ---- I know, you needed a break today. Being an old DP pro I bet you took the code for Countrybynet and copied it over to Tractbynet. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Whatever gets the job done. - Keep up to good work and I'll spread the word.

By the way I ran this post by the Word Perfect spell checker and it wants to replace Countrybynet with Contraband /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Posted 24 hours later then I planned due to Host error.

When I bring up a Posted in the Past 24 Hours page (my favorite), the window title shows as Search results for query:.

Big whoop, huh? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Geez! And that was my 3,000th post. What a waste. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Hi Muhammad
Lots of great improvements but I am still having some difficulties.

One - I am using IE5.5 on a PC and "My Home" requires horizontal scrolling to see the whole page

Two - my tiny brain is having trouble following your instruction on how to get my favourite forums to appear when I log in - On the old system I had my Control Centre bookmarked and it showed the forums I followed most - now those forums are missing. If I go to one of them on the Main Index and wish to add it as a favourite I am told it will be removed from my favourites list, so it must already be there - I just can't seem to find it.

I'll keep trying and would appreciate any words of wisdom when you have a chance.

Thanks - still love the site.

Thanks to the new format, I noticed that I was closing in on 500 posts. Out of curiousity I looked to see when my next "promotion" would be.

I'm currently listed as a "Platinum Member" and when I reach 500 I'll be promoted to... "Platinum". Have the number of posts changed for promotion or was I grandfathered in the last time they were changed?

Love the new format, TBN just keeps getting better and better!

The width just got adjusted correctly. I don't have the "control panel" anymore. How do I keep a collection of just the forums I want to see on "My home" I have the favorite threads but not the forums....
I go back and look some more and as usual, the answer will jump right out at me, painfully obvious, immediately after asking out loud.

Favorite forums can now be shown via the link at the bottom of the main index... Favorite Threads (Toggle) ...

You can add/subtract a forum as a favorite by going to the forum and clicking the favorite toggle link at the bottom of each (below where the moderators are listed)...

Real nice feature beneath one's user name adding all the posts made in the 1 hr, 6 hr, 12 hr, 24 hr, and 48 hr time frames. Real convenient to catch up on all the new posts. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
