Could they possibly be making something more unsafe trying to make it safer? I got this fuel can a few weeks ago for chainsaw gas. Of course it dispenses fuel pretty slow which actually works ok for filling a chainsaw. There is mechanism you have manipulate that takes two hands to engage but I can live with it. What I couldn’t live with was the green ring in the picture which is a safety thing for holding the spout on. There are teeth on it that won’t let the spout spin off. There is a tiny thumb lever that is suppose disengage the teeth so you can take the spout off to fill the can, yeah right. I cut it off.

Link doesn't work for me, but if it is like a recent purchase, I bought a new "old style" filler neck and a vent. The way it came is a big PIA, slow, and yes, I spilled a little, unlike the old style.

When they first started with the safety cans I bit the bullet and bought (6) 5 gallon Jerry cans with regular flexible metal spouts. The 6 cans get my walk behind mower, snow blowers, and small generators through one year.
For 2 cycle engines I use (and like) the "No Spill" brand of fuel containers. Push button to dispense, and they have a clear strip down the side to see the fuel level.

Many don’t have a choice due to local or state prohibitions…

I’m glad my existing should be a lifetime supply.

I never used to think that a gas can could ever become a prized possession. These new fuel cans probably cause more gas to be spilled into the environment than the old ones ever did because they are so functionally messed up.

Every one of those flexible metal Jerry can spouts that I have used leaks.

Guess I'm lucky. Mine have never leaked over the 25 years I've been using them.
