I don't know what to say. There's so much that went wrong, but there is so much that went right, too. You're lucky (blessed) that you even made it home, but you had more than your fair share go wrong, too.

Glad you made it home to tell the tale. You'll love having those lifts, and even with everything going wrong, they're still worth what you got them for.

+1. I'd love to have just one like them, yet alone two.:D
Glad to hear you made it back home safely in spite of the stress along the way.

Started putting up the 4 post lift. Good thing I helped take it down, things make a lot more sense. I am doing this as a one person job. None of the kids had the time to help this weekend and I wanted to get started. The front end loader is all I really need anyway.

5 men struggled with just one runner, the FEL made it so easy to move around and position.
I down loaded a manual to make sure I was doing it right. I found two mistakes the original owner made in putting it up. One should make a big difference, it was the routing of one of the cables. He had switched locations coming off the hydraulic cylinder and routed a cable where it rubbed against a bolt, hidden under the runner. No real wear, just put things in a bind with a load. He used the wrong length bolts on 4 posts for the caps. He also greased up the posts. I spent hours cleaning all of it off. You are suppose to use WD-40 against the UHMW blocks inside the posts. I pretty much have it all done, this one runs on 220V same as the two post lift I will put up next week.
Have to have help with that one, maybe not!

I just have one question........

....how on earth did you manage to find a lift that color coordinates with your tractor?

It's looking really good. Keep up the good work. I'm soooo jealous.

Four post lift is finished. I rolled it outside to give it a good washing.

Two post lift is much harder to install by yourself. I don't recommend doing it again with one person. Using the tractor is the only way this was even possible.
You have to set both columns upright and get them square to each other.
The rear end of the tractor was a good anchor.

Total weight of the lift is 1900#. Rented a hammer drill with 3/4 bit. Size does matter as it made my concrete easy work. 3500# with fibers and a year to cure, so I know the PSI's are good. It drilled holes like a hot knife in butter.

Used a lazer once one side was bolted down with wedge inserts.

This is where things got a little touchy. I did not want that to land on my head as I bolted it to the uprights.

I ran both lifts on Sunday to see them go up and down. I have a little tweeking before a car goes on them. Lags have to be torqued to 150# and I have to get a pipe/tube to put on my wrench. I could get them up to a 100# and even that was hard with a short handle.
This last shot was actually how I picked them off the ground and set them up by myself. That was a 4' sling and could not have been any shorter.

GT3RS, BRUMOS (24HR Car), Light Weight Factory 911 Race Car. What a candy store. He had many others in his showroom. I went by today before an appointment and the owner invited me in to see his cars. He also had the only Porsche 1980 Indy Car made that never entered a race as Porsche pulled the plug and decided to play elsewhere. I will go ahead and post it as it was bad.

Brought in the big guns this weekend. My Dad and Brother.
Purged the Cylinders and adjusted both lifts for optimal capacity.
Corrected problems on the lift arms on the two post lift. Problem was not having
the bolts tightened.
