New garage time!

Equipment technology amazes me.

Seeing the pics of setting the trusses with a truck boom is an example.

A good friend of mine is building a new house. I took this pic with my Drone. The person running the boom is the guy with the blue shirt standing in the middle of the pad. He even unhooked the chain by wiggling the boom. Amazing.

I love the 'great' space in the center of the home!

I hate the no attic space with trusses . As carpenter it makes no sense to me to loose all the storage space up there . Stick frame  My attic is packed with xmas decoratins etc. Small price to pay for another 1000 sq ft of storage. Talking about the picture not j's .:drink:

Most all the new truck cranes are remote. The lumber yard my buddy works at is getting a new 65 foot reach truck crane all remote control...

The guy who brought my 6 pallets of block used a remote control to opperate the crane, it was pretty slick.

Yep. This guy was faster than the carpenters. He'd be there with the next truss and have to wait a few seconds or a minute for them to have the last one fastened in place. He had a chain hooker at the truss pile.

Yep. A different friend had a house built this past Summer with attic space over the garage portion. Was costly but did add storage space. I told him in ten years there will be no walking space up there and he'll have no idea what's there.....

That’s pretty much right. It’s good for Christmas decorations but besides that attic space is about worthless.

I get a lot of jobs fixing ceilings from too much stuff being stored in an attic. Most homes do not have the proper framing to support a load in an attic.

For me, I want the most insulation that I can get in an attic. R60 is my goal, and that's about 2 feet of blown in insulation. I do not have anything stored in my attic and never will.

I have to say i was a bit weary when the opperator set down 44 sheets of plywood for the roof. I guided him in and when he set it down the floor didn't move at all. It's sitting on 2 2x8's which may be hitting 2 joists each, and it's almost 2000lb of plywood. It didn't make a sound, it didn't move, it just took the load.
