New garage time!

My pancake compressor blew a line, it's old and from harbor freight and I've abused it the entire time I've had it. My 30gal husky only runs on 20a and I don't have any 20a outlets anywhere, so I went searching for another smaller one. Found a Jenny Emglo like the one my buddy had brought over, but his was gas and this was electric. The motor said 15a on it so I figured I'd give it a go. It ran for a minute, then popped the breaker. So I got tired of it and ran a new line and put in a new breaker and drilled through the house and now I have a 20a outlet and the compressor runs great. Much quieter than my old harbor freight special or the husky from home depot.

All the ladders were on the 2nd floor and I needed to run an extension cord overhead, my wife wasn't impressed when she saw that i stacked wood and sent a picture to my mother hoping to get her to lecture me. She's a bit over the top on safety.

Ran some cords and got the lights up though, and I have to say I'm impressed. I was figuring 10 lights per floor, I only ended up using 8. And someone planned ahead, because 4' lights and 3 joists between and it lined up perfectly with no slack in the lines, light and cord is exactly 7 joists.

It's my bad habit, I absolutely hate footwear. I hate socks, shoes, or anything on my feet. I only wear flip flops, the thinnest of polyester socks, and docksiders. I've tried and anything else just bothers me. It started in the service with the boots, it would drive me insane, but at least i could get thin polyester socks. Ever since then, shoes just aren't for me. And only since then once did i drop a 48" tiller on my big toe and rip off my toe nail.

I'm a flip flop guy myself now... never was... always a 'tennis' shoe guy if I didn't have to wear work shoes. Now it's quality flip flops or slip ons with decent arch support. I would go bare footed if my arches would allow. A couple bouts of Plantar Fasciitis has taught me to at least wear something with decent support. And I am guilty of not being properly protected in the shop. Sorry.

Funny thing is, my father wakes up in hte morning, doesn't leave the bedroom without putting on his tennis shoes, wool socks in the winter. I think it might be a circulation thing, my feet also never get cold. I'll be in polyester socks and docksiders in 6" of snow, as long as my feet aren't wet I'm ok.

I've had the same Emglo electric wheelbarrow type air compressor that you pictured, except mine has the front wheel like your gas powered one does. It's worked flawlessly for me for 20 years!!!

It was a bit heavy to drag around to jobs, so I bought smaller ones, but had the same issue blowing circuits with them until I bought the Bostic pancake air compressor. It only pulls 11 amps and it has plenty of power for my framing nail gun, but mostly I use it for brads and staples.

The gas is nice if your'e far away from an outlet or don't have a 20a outlet handy. Fortunately we're in the same spot and have about 300' of hose so we can get pretty much anywhere. It is heavy, but when running with 2 guns it keeps up nicely. We've switched over to the electric one today and so far it's been great but we're only 2 hours in. First thing I did was change the oil in the compressor, it was pitch black.

Most of the front wall up today, ran out of 2x8's. Picking them up tomorrow. Lumber yard doesn't even tell me how much stuff is anymore, just "puts it on my account". I think at the end of the month I'll be in for a bit of a shock.

Tyvek is up from $200 to $666 as per home depot. I'm looking for other sources.
