Hey this is unbelievable feedback... Thank you all for the help and support.

In doing more research on the L3940... im not seeing ANYTHING for as cheap as the listing above, and certainly not with as few hours (230 'easy' hours... Whatever that means).

The only thing that its missig is the backhoe, but even if I spend 8k on a backhoe, its only going to run me a total of 30k... Roughly 5 more than the Kioti.

This all comes down to new vs used, and if this is a goodvalue for the price etc.

I guess the final question is, would you go NEW kioti, with the warranty and newness, or the used kubota, with more power and features... And 235 hours).

Im counting votes!!!

Tough call... and I am a Kioti guy... That L3940 is in my opinion a great tractor. Look it over carefully. But it is a couple of steps up from than the CK you are looking at. Just a step up (transmission wise) from the NX4510 albeit slightly less horsepower and 235 more hours. These are tough calls. You will have to decide. All I am saying is give the Kubota serious consideration. A warranty is a good thing too though. Tough call. The used Kubota is a Tier 4 interim too. A plus in my opinion.. The new Kioti is Tier 4 Final. more expense with the filter to have changed out in about 3000 hours. and the electronics to manage it.

K0ua why is the HST trans so much better on the L3940 when both machines have very similar horsepower values at the engine and rear Pto?

I went new because I wouldn't know a good used one from a bad one. I felt safer but that safety can be costly. Tractors don't depreciate much but they do depreciate. You may do well to find a reputable independent tractor repairman to inspect likely candidates.

Also go to a dealer and at least sit on the the different brand tractors and look at them. That way you can get an idea if this brand or that is more for you. Your area of PA ought to be full of dealers. When I was up that way a few moths ago all I say was farmland.

It is a more advanced design than anything else out there. A truly next gen. The latest NX series and many of the JD's have some of the features but not all. I of course don't have one, but I have seen the demos, and many of the owners that have them speak very highly of these next generation features. three of which I wish I had on my hydro machine. That is auto throttle (available on many brands now) Hydro response, and the Dual Speed in the same range. I Believe some of the older New Hollands that were made by Shibaura (another Japanese manufacture )have this function.

Check it out good, but give it serious consideration.

Wizard - did you figure out how much you will need to lift routinely an if that LA724 loader can lift it and carry it (with proper ballast of coarse, which the backhoe will provide).

Wow 4k seems really cheap! I was about to write to expect more than the 9k you thought. My guess would be Woods 9000 BH. Make sure you get the subframe for the BH (and that they then give you all the 3pt components).
You want loaded rear tires (if it's a dealer they probably will throw this in for "free" if you ask).
For you tasks most people would want R4 (industrial) tires and the Grand should have come with factory SSQA on the loader.
When you go see it, take some pic and post them here.

Since you are new to tractors, before you buy go your local kubota dealer's service bay and offer one of the mechanics $100 to go look at the tractor with you. Would be money well spent.
