I have an LS XR4150 shuttle shift, with backhoe, 3rd function, grapple, flail ditch bank mower, etc. Love the tractor. I have a dealer about 50 miles away. I think the price for what I got was about the same. I did not get a cab, as there is not snow here and I like the open station. But I did get a canopy. It was a great add on and was included in the price.

Mred2 How do you like the backhoe? I had a JD 1025r TLB and the backhoe was more of a pain than anything. It hardly had any digging power and it was so expensive that i kept it in the garage taking up space. I realize that is a subcompact 25 hp tractor and it was way to small for what i was asking it to do.

Ive rented a 35hp mini ex a few times and swore Id never own a tractor backhoe again. They are so much more powerful, fast, and maneuverable. Ive even posted on here my experience with other folks on a 25hp tractor backhoe. But then i needed to dig up a drain tile that i crushed putting in a drive crossing to the back of my property and that 30-40’ long trench was exhausting for me and my two older boys. It wasnt enough of a project to justify renting a machine but it sure was big enough that i regretted not having it.

Im wondering how useful they are on these bigger tractors. After doing some more research i realized that i could have bought a Kubota L47 TLB for not a whole lot more than Im paying for this L6060.

i SPENT SOME TIME ON MY BUDDYS NEW LS XR 4140 OVER THE WEEKEND AND REALLY LIKED IT. I HAVE 4 TRACTORS.AND I WOULD BUY THE LS . VERY SMOOTH OPERATING AND THE HYDRO WAS QUIET COMPARED TO MY MAHINDRA. WAY MORE LIFT CAPACITY ALSO.

I like my backhoe. I had an old case 680 BH that would rip stumps out of the ground. Very big machine. While the BH on this 50hp will not dig big stumps, it will dig ditches, put in drains, and but animals. I had a main water line break and the people came with a mini ex. They could not dig deep enough and borrowed my BH to finish the job. For the size, it does a good job. I use mine a good bit. Some people with little needs may find it better to rent due to cost.

I just have a little 750 Woods for my L3301 but wouldn't trade it for anything. It was my father's until he passed away so I brought it home. Before that I had an even smaller unit... a CadPlans kit which did a lot of work for me. Neither unit will rip stumps out of the ground but taking my time and working them I have finessed quite a few out over the years. For bigger jobs I can still hire somebody; when I wanted to reclaim an old 2 acre field I had a 30 ton excavator come in with a seasoned operator.

Thanks for all the feedback, I drove the Kioti, it was an NX5010 and really liked it! I'm kind of leaning towards the Kioti, it just felt more comfortable to me. You only get one remote on Kioti and its $297 for each additional rear remote. So comparing apples to apples the Kioti is $3426 more. The Kioti has a larger lift capacity and reach height as well on the loader. The other benefit of the Kioti is the availability of a hydraulic add on thumb, which I know would be possible on LS but you would need to piece together the parts. My Kioti dealer has used the Kioti kit before and says it is a well put together hydraulic thumb operated by foot pedal.

The Kioti dealer also picks up the cost of the first service, the LS dealer does not. I've got decisions to make that aren't easy. I still need to try to see if I can negiotate the Kioti price down a little. But I am really leaning towards the Kioti at this point. Also the Kioti does offer a little more convenience features such as anti stall, and electronically linked pedals.

Thanks for all of your guys input!

Whatever you buy you are going to love. I havent owned an LS but i have owned 2 Kiotis and I can tell you that the fit and finish of them is very good. Reliability, parts availability, dealer network, brand name, everything is all very very good.

If you never owned those extra features than youd never miss them but both of them are extremely helpful when you are doing loader work. The linked pedal is amazing. I pretty much left my tractor at idle all the time unless i was bush hogging or something that needed constant RPMs. But doing loader work, tree removal, grapple work, ect... the linked pedal is great and will save you fuel.

Take my advice with a grain of salt because Im biased. But ive personally owned 2 Kiotis that were great machines, just undersized for what i needed them to do, and i just bought my 4th Kubota. I bleed orange... But if i were in your shoes the Kioti would be the hands down winner.

Not sure on the LS but the Kiotis are also very very easy to work on and service yourself. Minus the HST filter being about $80, the complete servicing to include all the filters, and fluids was very reasonable (especially compared to the Case Skidsteer that got serviced sitting right next to it every year). In my opinion there is zero risk with the Kioti, but others would probably say the same about the LS as well. I just dont have any experience with them.

P.s. $293 for each additional rear remote?? Ugh... They were almost $900 ea on my Kubota L6060.... and i got 3 of them. But i am running a top and tilt kit and a box blade with hydraulic scarifiers. And i may add a hydraulic cylinder to my landscape rake just for fun....

If you really like the Kioti, $3500 should not be a deal killer. There were no dealers near me (100+ miles away) or I would have looked at them.

I am very pleased with the LS, but if I had found a machine more to my liking, I would have paid an extra $4k. I really liked the Kubota but the dealer was a jerk, it would not fit under my door and it was about $8-10k more.

I'm thinking about the top and tilt as well, as I will be getting a box blade to grade my driveway at my cabin which is about a mile long, I think ultimately the Kioti dealer is gonna come down in price. I also see the anti stall as a bonus for a green operator and the linked pedals being helpful as well, I see the value in that. Thanks again for the input!

I looked and drove Kubota and like you said they are way more money, I was surprised that Mahindra was way more as well, They were easily like $13000 more, I couldn't believe it. Also Kubota's lift capacity was on the low side in my mind. Honestly if I didn't care about cost Yanmar would be what I would be getting but they are $10k more as well. I liked the Yanmar the best but not $10k more, that's a whole lot of toys for on the tractor. The other thing I'm struggling with is the grapple, seems like a lot of guys go with EA, but they are about $500 more than other grapples. Thanks again!

A couple more things to consider. If you have a gravel driveway to maintain a box blade will work. BUT a land plane/land leveler would be way better!! They are absolutely the best tool for that. Box blades do good for a lot of things and are a fantastic tool but if you had a land plane your drive would look like you just got a fresh load of gravel delivered everytime you blades it. and they are very easy to use. Not a lot of skill required unlike a box blade that will require a lot of practice to get really good with. They both have their purposes. The land plane you literally just set it level on the ground and go.

And you dont have to spend a fortune. Lots and lots of people are more than happy with the lighter duty ones from TSP or Rural King (Plus they are made in the USA if that matters to you). And let’s be real... grading a gravel road is not strenuous like cutting roots, dirt, and clay. You want the heaviest box blade you can buy sized right for your tractor.

Absolutely agree on Kubota.. they are expensive. Fit and finish, reliability, dealer availability, and resale are why I keep going back.

One thing to keep in mind is that Kubota generally under rates their tractors. They often have substantially more lift capacity than they advertise and more hp then they advertise. When they rate their machines hp wise they test 100 tractors and whichever one has the lowest numbers that is what that model is rated at.

Lift capacity they are very conservative in their ratings also. I suspect its because Billy Bob would see they rate it for 2000 lbs for example and think he can run it that way all day everyday with 2000 lbs bouncing around hanging out there (or more) and when something breaks, he goes out blasting to the world that his machine failed and they are all junk.

Lastly.. highly highly recommend getting 3 remotes. Of the 3 you really want at least 2 of them to be float valves if you are considering a T&T ever. One detent valve would be nice if you are ever running something like a log splitter or post pounder but you really want floats for each of your T&T cylinders. Do some searching on here and there is tons of info posted by members and Brian from Fit Rite. There are lots of reasons why you would want those to cylinders to float.
