New Holland/Ford 555E engine oil issues

Seal on engine side of injection pump. I'd check fuel system all the way back to the tank. Them are bad about breaking the flex plate that drives the torque converter too. If you take it down, replace it. If you take fuel tank off, there's two little bolts straight up into the bottom of tank that are a tight fit.

Does it have a fuse link in the system ? That would result in no clicking.

There is a fuse panel and I looked at every fuse. I might put them on a tester to make sure. But there isnt an obviously blown fuse. 30 amp are the biggest.

The fuse link would not be in the panel but in one of the wires . Near the engine. I repaced one with a fuse rather than the wire. It took me a while to find it and it was a no. of yrs ago so i forget the details. Hopefully some one here can point you in the right direction.

I would first try to understand why the oil is 'growing'. It's called fuel dilution and it can be very serious. There are several causes but it's usually something to do with the injectors. Sometimes it's just plain old "Wet Stacking"; which can be cured by -- Well, not cured but alleviated by changing the oil frequently and by trying to run it hot more.

It's why the older diesels recommended such frequent oil changes. They couldn't keep the diesel fuel out of the crankcase.

As to the stalling? If it's because the engine is seizing up, you may have real problems. Hope not. Oil is cheap. Change it out and see what's what.

If.it was seized, would all of the electrical be dead? I cant.get the lights to come on. I cant find a hot wire anywhere past the starter.

When my brother owned his Auto Repair Shop, he had (one of many) VW come in that wouldn't start. Hates VW's to this day.

He checked everything he could think of. Put a $10k diagnostic machine on it that told him -- Nothing. After 2 weeks, they finally figured out it was a sensor on the hatch lock. If that sensor doesn't sense the hatch being closed, you can't start the car. Go figure.

I talked to a VW mechanic about it years later and he said it was common knowledge that they were a problem. Problem was, just to hook up the old Frau to a machine at the Dealer would cost $150 and God only knows how much more to fix it.

I might drop into the Kioti Dealer or another place that works on them all the time and see what you can find out. They're hip to that so you might not get anything out of them. OTOH, they might take pity on you.

I'm looking for an inline fuse, but nothing is jumping out for me. I don't have any safety switches, but I do have the forward and reverse lever on the steering column, and I'm wondering if it's the problem. It wont start if its in forward or revers. What if it's broke?
