Hello everybody, I just purchased an 2008 E35B excavator with a broken tube from the dryer.
I need to re charge the system now but I cannot fine how refrigerant this thing takes in any of my manuals.
does anyone here have any idea of how much to add?
I have e-mailed New Holland construction with this request but as expected no response.
Thanks in advance.

I usually don't worry about how much refrigerant to add. When the tube coming back to the compressor (large tube) is cold to the touch you know the system has enough Freon.

i would imagine the "shop / service manual" for your unit would have the info. guessing cheaper on internet for purchasing a shop/service manual.

instead of contacting manufacturer directly. have you tried contacting a local dealer of ford/new Holland equipment?

I looked all thru the shop service manual and owners manual that I purchased on the internet....nothing... I went to our local NH dealer but they are just Ag. not const. I e-mailed New Holland customer service and they finally responded with call you local dealer. I contacted 2 dealers on line with no luck and finally after the third try I had an answer from Douglas lake equipment in Kamloops B.C.
The E35B takes 590 grams of R-134A
So finally I got an answer. Not impressed with the lack of dealers in the pacific north west though.
Thanks for all support.

it never clicked originally. but it is not "volumn" or "weight" but rather "pressure" and needing pressure gauges most likely hooked up to find out how much to add to the system.

134a automotive systems pretty much need to be charged by weight. There is usually less than 1.5 lbs of charge, so charging by pressure is just too **** touchy. If you are off by 2 ounces, you will have a pretty noticeable change in performance.
You just evacuate what's there and recharge using a refrigerant scale.
You still need the gauges, for diagnostics.
