Tractor
New Holland TZ25DA
My tractor sat covered for six months; I went to go start it, and had a 1200 amp jumper on the battery, but none of the lights on the dash went on; no horn; no flashers. I was sitting on the seat, it was in neutral, when I tried to jump start it; it was running fine with no problems the last time I used it. I took the positive and negative cables off of the battery and hook them right up to my jump box and that did nothing. What am I missing? NOTE: I may have put the cables on the battery terminal in reverse when going to jump the battery. Not sure. I am looking to locate the 40 amp main fuse. I found a schematic online of the tractor and it lists the 40amp fuse in the parts area but it does not show the fuse in the diagram as to where it is located. Thanks

Unless your tractor battery was completely dead or the terminals REALLY corroded you should have had massive fireworks if you connected the jump box backward. Connected properly you should have seen a small spark. Did you connect the jump box directly to the battery? Start with a thorough cleaning of battery terminals and connectors and tighten well. Don't overlook the cable connection to tractor frame ground.

You blew the 40amp. It is right around the starter in behind some wires.

Slightly hard to get to but you can .
