Hi guys, lurked here for awhile and read a ton before I finally made up my mind. I've ordered a new Kubota MX5100HST with pallet forks and backhoe. Excited to beat the Tier IV garbage, the greenies can suck it. I say hopefully in the title because the tractor isn't in my possession yet as everything is on order. Waiting for all stuff to come in (HD bucket, hoe subframe, and R1 Ag tires) before I can go get it. Being told around mid september. Just wanted to thank everyone here for all the useful posts. This is my first tractor, the plan is for us to use it while we are building our new house on our newly purchased 54 wooded acres. The MX5100 seemed to be a sweet spot in new tractors. I currently heat my home with pellets and we order 6 ton a year and they're a bear to get in the garage with my current man powered pallet jack, so this thing should really make me smile when it comes time for that chore this year. I ordered from Messicks in PA, and with the money I saved over all my local dealers I was able to afford the backhoe, which will make all the power / cable / drainage / septic holes MUCH easier on the new property. I've got some mods planned for as soon as she gets home. I've got a set of 6" ID KC Daylighter flood lights to install, and seriously considering a straight pipe exhaust. Nothing beats the sound of a turbo diesel. I'll also be welding some hooks and a hitch to the bucket. I will also be loading my tires and making a ballast box for when the hoe's off.
