congrats on the mx5100 not to burst your bubble but you should have looked at an M series because the 5100 will not lift a full skid of anything my 7040 wouldn't do it I had the dealer adjust the hydro pressure

Not true. He has made a well informed decision. Those MX5100s are nice.

Meet my 1976 Ford F250 powered by a 4-53t Detroit 2 stroke, affectionately named "Jimmy". It's currently under the knife for a full engine rebuild, as well as conversion from auto to a 5 speed main and 3 speed auxiliary. Can't wait to get it back up and running!!!

Good looking truck and a great project. You should start a thread when doing the swap, I'm sure many here would be interested ( I know I am).

Thanks brother!

Thanks. I got it from California with the Detroit already in it, but it was backed by an Allison 4 speed auto. I despise automatics, (funny I chose HST lol) so when the motor ate a liner oring I decided it was long overdue for some real transmissions. I have a thread going on 4btswaps already, feel free to check it out here: Jimmy blows an o-ring :(

I have a bunch of plans for the motor besides just the rebuild. I'm swapping it to electronic fuel injection, adding jakes, and turning the power way up. Hopefully she stays together long enough to enjoy it!! lol

Wayne,
I just checked out your rebuild project on your Ford. Awesome work!! When you get it running, could you make a video and post it? It would be great to hear it run.

I got an email the other day that said there is a new site starting called TrucksByNet.com. I know posting on forums can be very time consuming, but they are very beneficial to everyone.

Congratulations on the new Kubota. Better get your truck finished before the tractor arrives because you might not want to let it rest.

Good luck with the rebuild.

Thanks man, I've been mostly all self taught, my buddy Rick who posted in that thread has been invaluable for advice and showing me a better way to do what i've already learned the hard way. He's one of the best fabricators I've ever had the pleasure of watching. I only wish I had more time to spend with him learning.

Nice tractor. Hope you get good use out of it. Watch out for any hillsides.

Salesman sent me a few pics of the tractor on their lot now that the dealer transfer is complete. Waiting on the AGs, hoe subframe, and HD bucket to get there. Doesn't the loader package come with grill guard? Only thing I noticed in the pics.
