The 3.6 Pentstar makes more power and uses less fuel. Whats not to like about it. Most vehicles give up the ghost before 300,000 miles. I guessing less than 1% get driven that long.

Guess it depends on the expectations regarding HP numbers. At what rpm do you want that hp?
In regards to mpg. If you are driving a Jeep that's low on your priority list. Even with my wife's GC, neither of us could tell you it's numbers without cheating and looking at the display.

According to the DOT the avg age of vehicles (Passenger cars and light trucks) is 11.5 years, 150K miles. 300K miles is on the far right side of the bell curve. Its shifting, but still not within one std deviation. Forbes did an article that suggests the avg age of cars in the US will be over 200K miles by 2022.
