New John Deere 5075E Open Station w/PowrReverser package

A couple of weeks ago, I ordered a brand new JD 5075E MFWD with the 553 FEL. I took advantage of the new transmission package offering from JD on these open station 5000E series tractors and got the PowrReverser / 540E PTO package that also comes with the digital dash.

I had been scouring the web for pics of these new configurations for a long time now, but could never find any. The dealers are apparently just now getting them from their orders. None of the JD website or brochure literature showed pics of this set up either, so I have been curious to see how it was laid out.

My dealer called yesterday to say the tractor had come in - 2 weeks early! Someone backed out on their order and I got their spot.

So I went out to the dealer today to check it out in person and took a few quick pictures. The dealer needs to add a 2nd rear SCV to it per my order, so I won't get it delivered until later next week.

I was very pleased with the tractor! I think with Deere finally offering the PR tranny package, this is one of the very best values on the market for an open station utility tractor.

BTW, the new 5085E's are monsters! (See one in the background of my pics here)

I'll post more pics and a review after I get it delivered in a week or so.

Thanks! Yeah, I really like that the dash came as part of the PR transmission package. How else would I remember when I was in 4WD, or what my ground speed was?

Nice indeed. Cabs are nice but can be limiting at times too.

Yeah, there were two reasons I stuck with an open station... 1. Cost 2. Ability to get into tighter spaces without the cab. I have a lot of wooded areas on my property and I didn't want to replace glass, mirrors, lights, etc. all the time. I can always duck and let the ROPS take those beatings.

I agree. Do be careful however because I have had my ROPS catch a low dead limb and flip it back towards me. Bush hogging around power line poles with guide wires can require eyes in the back of your head or a simple make up mirror from the Dollar Store.

I hear you there. I've had a few limbs snap on me after the ROPS catch them, too. I've learned my lesson there - or at least how to cover my head properly, haha.

Good deal, my wife has her own machines a BX2200 and BX2660 and runs our L5740 when needed, but I haven't been able to take the time to orient her on our M8540. It lives on another farm and we have two grown sons, so no real need though.

My age and health keeps me off open station units and I have moved them to another farm, handy in tight woods though; enjoy your new tractor.

My JD 6415 is an open station. I bought it for the same reasons you got an open station, cost. I think the dealer I bought from could not sell it because it lacked a cab. So I got a very good price.

I'm still a young guy, so I figured I would save my money now for other things (diapers, ha?!) and get a cab later in my years. I am looking forward to one in the future though! Fall days listening to football in the tractor takes me back to my young days riding with my grandpa. Good memories!

I can see that in the northern states, for sure. I grew up in farm country, Minnesota, and open station tractors were pretty rare. Having snow blown in your face when it's -20° out doesn't sound that fun, ha!

Yep, I held off on getting rid of my open station tractors until in my 60's, even with cabs I often wear a pollen mask. Enjoy your tractor and babies, I love kids.

Me too. Great timing for me looking for a new machine as these are finally rolling onto lots. Like you said, now that the E series have the PR, it really makes them one of the best values for a CUT!

I had quotes run from about 5-6 JD dealers in the area. It came out to about $35,595 total.

That is adding in:

$750 for a 2nd rear SCV
$2118 for the PowrReverser package - which includes the 12F/12R PR transmission, digital dash with ground speed indicator, 540E PTO
$450 for insulated canopy
$225 for Global Carrier and 73" materials bucket
$1100 for freight and set up of the tractor and 553 FEL

I also got a 4 year full power train and 4 year onsite maintenance plan tossed in for "free".
