New Kioti CX2510 running rough

Hey everyone, I searched around a lot and couldn't find anything about my specific issue. At just under 20 hours on the clock my machine has developed what feels like a missfire. If I run it over 2000 RPM the engine will studder and blow white smoke from the exhaust. Also the hydraulics have become rough and can induce the missfire at times. Ive checked the machine over top to bottom, all fluids are good. It has fresh fuel in the tank, fuel filter doesn't appear to have water in it. Before I call the dealer on Monday Im hoping someone here has an idea of what is going on. Thanks!

If your getting ready to dole out the kind of money for a “DEALER” diagnostic..
CHANGE THE FILTER OR FILTERS.. don’t guess if it’s good or bad.!!
Is it gravity fed or does it have a low pressure supply pump.??
Pull the line closest to the fuel tank and check the flow.. your looking for a gush of fuel, NOT a trickle..
If it has an electric supply pump, pull the line AFTER the s.pump and turn on the key switch and check the flow..

My CK2610 did the same, kinda. Turned out to be a diaphragm in the fuel pump. Pull your fuel pump and see if the internals are complete or busted, if it has that kind of pump on it.

I also had a little metal piece in the fuel tank, that restricted fuel flow.

Thanks Guys, I will change out the filter, its small and looks easy to get to. Im pretty sure its a gravity system but there is a round part on the engine near the injector pump that looks like a diaphragm pump, I will check that as well. I have a great personal relationship with the dealer so Im sure they will help me trouble shoot before I have to bring it in to them. Hopefully its nothing major. This is my first diesel so Im learning.

Stopped by the dealer today, they gave me a fuel filter to try but he thinks its the injector timing, said they run them really advanced from the factory and has run into this before.

Sorry, but I gotta call BS on this one.

Kioti doesn't "run them really advanced from the factory". In fact, the factory spec for the CX2510/CK2610 is 2* less than what the engine was originally designed for. And timing set wrong doesn't "develop" into a problem at 20 hours unless it was so out of spec that it trashed the engine. I'm thinking that white smoke you're seeing is what your dealer is trying to blow up your behind.

Something is plugged or broke.

And timing set wrong doesn't "develop" into a problem at 20 hours unless it was so out of spec that it trashed the engine. I'm thinking that white smoke you're seeing is what your dealer is trying to blow up your behind.

He said if its an issue it will usually presents itself once the engine breaks in a bit. I have no reason to not believe him, he sells dozens of these machines a year, not saying you're wrong but he is a personal friend and has never done me wrong on anything Ive bought from them.

I wish I could give you a hand with some real advice, but I've got nothing. That said, I have no doubt it will be something supremely foolish.

Its not pouring white smoke, its intermittent and only at high RPM and mostly under load. Either way dealer is picking it up this week to fix it before the weekend.

Yeah we have a old Kioti that has a injector going. It would cut out at about 1900 rpm and start smoking white. Wasn’t consistent for about 2 years then finally it was all the time.

Here is the update. Dealer picked it up Thursday and it was sitting in my driveway yesterday when I got home. They removed a shim from the injection pump and it runs better than ever. It runs smoother, quieter and has a bit more power too. He said it doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s usually around the 20 hour mark and this fixes it every time.

Sorry I missed this, I bought from J&J Farms, small family owned dealer in town. Bought my Exmark and many other things from them.
