New Kubota BX25-D Mod

I used to read some of his posts...Some of the mods were interesting, many were the equivalent of the installation of spinners---just too muck stuff bolted/welded all over the place....To each his own. He is a great craftsman, no doubt..He just wants to remind everyone of that fact.

I did notice the arrogance ratcheting up as the complements came in...He needs to realize the life lesson my dad gave me --- "No matter what you have, someone has one nicer. No matter what you can do, someone can do it better". This has served me well in keeping things in perspective.

I stopped watching 4shorts ego-fests long ago...After seeing his posting here, I'll certainly pay him no heed ever again.

Mike, I pretty much agree with all your points except I would bet Kubota has indeed heard of 4shorts/Specialty Repairs. Most any company that is solid... has a pulse on what is going on that could possibly effect their business, good or bad.

I doubt Kubota has heard of him or even cares. He's not going to effect their business in any way...If they cared, they'd hire him as a designer/engineer..Last I heard, not so much..

"Once I said to him in a post Paul you and I are a lot alike we are both are garage owners, we both like making things from nothing. We like working in the shop. I have restored many of the same things like you have in your room, like the coke machines, scales etc. He replied Gee it's only Tuesday and I already had the laugh of the week. You may think we are alike but I'm afraid you're nothing like me, there are things I have done that I don't show etc, etc" I do remember this and I thought What a Ego he has. maybe SMD?

I have one patent, though it was a reasonably successful one. I'm not a patent attorney, but have learned a little about patents over the years.

First, you cannot patent "prior art", that is one of the patent office's primary reasons to deny a patent. There have been lots of backhoe bucket quick connects before, so that idea would be considered prior art. Now if some new feature/s or design were incorporated, and said design or features were themselves not prior art, then those designs or features might be patented. But consider that a "design" patent is the weakest form of patent - as has been posted, one only has to change the design to get around a design patent.

On the other hand, a copyright protects the expression of facts and ideas, not the actual facts or ideas themselves. So a writing or computer program might be copyrighted, but not a backhoe quick connect.
