woodstock\'s response, to Mr. Kelly
First let me start by apologizing to everyone about this long posting. I personally can’t stand long-winded posts and rarely read ones of such length. So I don’t blame anyone for not reading this one.
Bird,
I am surprised that even you fell for my trap.
My original posting at Kubota .ca was designed to achieve three things.
1. Find out if any in Kubota Management every reads the postings
2. Introduce TractorByNet members to the new site.
3. Create open dialogue on this important matter of direct communication with the Manufacture.
Mission accomplished don't you think Bird.
Still confused let me explain.
1. If you bother to register, this part is slow in responding with the necessary site generated password (hours not minutes), you will find much of what was already on the old site plus some very stale dated forum postings still waiting from replies from some one. One would assume that if you were on the manufactures web site and asking a product question that some customer representative would pick up the ball and answer questions that were going unanswered about their own product. The sales revenue from which, we the faithful Kubota Owners, paid for the web site, every Kubota employees’ salary and shareholder’s profits. Well some is reading the postings to bad they have time to delete my test post and turf me from their site but can’t answer simple product question.
2. In the short time, I’ve been a proud member of this excellent site TractorByNet, I've noticed that negative posts here get more views and responses. Well in two days we have 700 views and 19 post. Point proven.
3. It is extremely difficult to create this active dialogue on a site (Kubota.ca), which does not include any contact information, what so ever. No email, snail mail telephone Fax nothing. Now thanks to this forum, TractorByNet, we now have constructive dialogue that was not possible on the Kubota.ca site.
Bird, I chose this approach on the Kubota.ca forum for fear a diplomatic approach would have received the same response (none) as other postings at the Kubota.ca forum.
Mr. Ryan Kelly
Thank you for responding to my Kubota.ca posting through TractorByNet (thank you Muhammed for TractorByNet). It is unfortunate that the Kubota.ca site did not provide or appear to provide the opportunity for this intelligent dialogue.
Mr. Kelly in your response you indicate it is imperative that I gather feedback...good and bad...as much as possible.
While this sounds genuine, I failed to find anything at the Kubota.ca site that would back this up your statement. Did I miss this request for feed back link? No, there is none. Did I miss a statement requesting feed back? No, there is none.
Which leave the question Mr. Kelly, if it is imperative, just how did you propose that Kubota Owners, like myself and Kubota.ca Registered Users like myself, provide you with this imperative feedback.
Mr. Kelly I would of prefered(sic) a more constructive approach from Woodstock and I hope everybody can understand why we had to delete the post.
The failure to meet your imperative objective stated above precluded my ability to be constructive in a timely manner. After all the Internet is all about timely responses. This is why we all want more bandwidth and accelerated access to information. There is no doubt in my mind that if I had made some sort of constructive suggestion (been there done that) and researched how to contact someone, anyone at the Kubota.ca site, there likely would have been no response or perhaps the typical carbon copied excuse #397, we are exploring that issue thank you for contacting Company XYZ
Concerning deleting my posting in its entirety. As far as I am aware such an approach is not considered effective constructive censorship with the intent to inform and enlighten both parties. A non-McCarthyan approach would have deleted any offending (very subjective) wording and had the Moderator respond in an open forum at the site, not by private email using a pseudonym.
Mr. Kelly I am not sure who responded with the above message but frankly I do not think it matters....everybody is entitled to their points of view.
While you may not be interested in who responded I am positive the President of Kubota Canada will be and I will be glad to provide the email tracking information.
Let me try to shorten this posting by asking Mr. Kelly questions based on his statements.
Can you provide the statistics on your post launch survey of this one moth old site?
In a global world free of trade barriers should we as Canadians, and I am a proud Canadian, be content that we are only as good as the local competition?
What are the effective tools for Kubota Owners at the Kubota.ca site?
Should the Kubota Owners be concerned with dealer tools at the Kubota.ca site?
Business which care about customers, and I am sure Kubota does, do so through feedback. As Mr. Kelly put it it is imperative that I gather feedback...good and bad...as much as possible. How does the Kubota.ca site promote this?
Is the Kubota.ca site under construction? Did I miss the posting somewhere?
Are you gathering information (suggestions) as part of your contractual obligations to and/or under the direction of Kubota or for your Own Corporate use?
In closing, I would like to thank all of my fellow TractorByNet members whether or not you agree with my position or methods, I truly respect your opinion and involvement in this and other discussions.
While I am hopeful Mr. Kelly will continue to visit our forum, I am not as hopeful concerning his desire to continue this discussion. However, I hope I am wrong and that Mr. Kelly is truly interested and capable of meeting the challenge to meet the consumer needs that ultimately have driven the Internet to its current state and those consumer demands, which will continue to drive the Internet.
