Here is a link i just found to the New Kubota M59.
it the first pictures i seen of it , with specs.
for those that are intrested. Looks like a bigger L39
with all same options a L39 has. a little to big for my needs.
but looks like its going to be a beast. it claims to have a hard nose
slanted front end. with auto level ,tilt steering , and side panel display.
just like the L39.;) front bucket is 84 inches wide.... 8400 pounds
at $47000 , I think i am still going for the L39...;) and on the M59 ,you have to buy the whole 3 point set up seperatly. it dont come with it...:(

Hmmm.. HST Plus tranny. I guess Kubota has confidence in the HST Plus since they've put it on their top of the line commercial grade TLB :)

It looks very nice. But the size, weight, hp and price are all putting it much closer to the industrial TLB category than the compact TLB. I guess the L48 was already teetering on the edge of that class anyway.

I'm curious - with the L48, Kubota advertised that you should be able to fit an L48 on a 10k trailer and still be below 10k actual weight, avoiding CDL requirements in some states. Will that still be possible with the M59?

They say its still possible, but it defentialy gets into the legal gray area. You can pull it off if your local laws allow you to count the weight on the truck tounge seperate from the trailers axles. I've been working with a customer on this exact problem.

I really like the guards over the stabilizers. Need on the L39 also.

I wish they put a 12" tire on front vs. the 10" and it had another 1000 lbs of steel in the axles and frame.

That huge bucket seems like it is going to have a hard time on the M59 when it pushes into a pile. My L39 is ballasted to +8100 lbs and fights to get a 6' bucket into a solid pile.

I like the bucket breaout force #'s.

For the money, it would be a good deal with a nice cab. It is about $13K over the L39. Add on options, and a Terex 870 is not that far away.

Who is the first on TBN to own one?

Here is the problem i see , i read somewhere at $47000 that dont include
any buckets. or 3 point. by time you add all extra Hydraulic functions. buckets, 3 point and all options. you are going to be well over $50000..:(
at that price. you my as well go to a full size case or John deere 310. also when you ballist the machine. and add all options. you will be well over 9000 pounds. and towing will be a problem , and really hard on any yard and your about out of the compact value of the machine. before the L39 and L48 were close enough in price. if someone needed a little more. you could step up. but to be honist. Mike has shown what a L39 can do. :) and it comes with the 3 point hitch. and i priced a loaded L39 for a little over $35000. to gain a little under 2 more feet on the hoe. witch most people will never need. and a little more lift. i just ant really seeing the 16 or $17000 dollar jump. it just ant worth it to me. just my opinion. and i think i would rather have GST than hydro for implament work anyway. i just think the price is to far apart now.
as i said. i think when the time comes. i will go with the L39 , and just set it up like Mike did his. and i will be happy. you can buy alot of stuff for and extra $16000....:D but i am sure its going to be a really nice machine.;)

I bought the L39 not long after they were just introduced. I was lucky enough to find a dealer with a machine in stock. Kubota would have pulled the machine off their lot to supply another dealer who had a definite buyer. Even so the best I did was $1000 less than list, a $100 Husky chainsaw, and a good break on a box blade.

My point is that List of $47,000 bare, $52,000 nicely equiped is going to be the sell price for some time. I can not see many even well to do landowners buying that machine, as it is a real toss-up between even a new L39 or L48 vs. a low hour full size machine for the money.
I know this is apples to very large oranges comparision, but the size gap narrows with the M59.
The commercial/rental market may be the place for an M59. I think it's cost is going to make it a nitche machine.

If Kubota could sell the M59 at $45k nicely equipped, I'd think Kubota would sell as many as they could make, as at that price the M59 makes sense. It is a very nice tractor.
If Kubota sell this machine in quanity at $50K, I can see Case or JD rising up to offer this size machine and that may drive the price to be in line.

Creep-to-reposition in backhoe mode, and the stabilizer guards are the only features that made me slightly jealous.

Otherwise, I'm very happy with my smaller, lighter, maneuverable, towable L-39 for all the digging and farm tasks that I am working on.

I got my Case for ~5 grand more. IMO, it would be nicer to have a low houred (1,000 jrs) "real" full-size machine with a cab and much bigger digging specs since neither machine can be transported without a CDL.

I would think even with the 1,000 hr handicap, the full size will last longer hours than the Kubota, produce more results and make its' owner a lot more money over its' lifespan.

If you need a smaller machine, the L-39/48 are the way to go since they can be transported by a 1-ton pickup without a CDL and they cost far less.

How about that optional 3pt. hitch.......Big bucks I bet. Nice machine, wich I could have one, but I like the L48s for the $ right now. The tranny sure is an improvement as is the stablizer guards, I use my hand to push down the hst pedal to reposition from backhoe seat position.....poor mans creep feature!!! 7' wide bucket too big for some landscaping needs......as is the 10k lbs. weight. I wonder how much the thumb option is, they look nice, my custom L48 thumb was $3,400 and worth every penny. Builder's comments are valid although I absolutely need the 3pt hitch, something a full sized machine will never come with.
