at that price i will be suprised to see it move fast off the dealers lots. i agree it would be better to upgrade to a slightly used full sized tlb. i run a midsized tlb and find that it can do most of the work anyone needs. however, i constantly run up against people who look down on it due to its size. why anyone needs a full sized machine to dig a 3 ft. trench is beyond me. after the job is done customers are sprised by the machine but still think of it as a mini or compact machine so it always has to prove itself. i have heard many times "i didn't think your machine would handle it" or something similar. so this machine comes in to a market that should definitly exist but hasn't really worked. the earthforce 570's for existence are great machines but were never taken seriously. i believe case had a smaller tlb at one time as well as jcb. if a company would take the short term loss on price to create the market and let the machines prove themselves on a larger scale i think it would be very successful. an example of this is how the jd 110 is left out of their dig deeper site, hardly any mention. i hope kubota is successful with this machine and they come out with a cab for it. again that adds to the bottom line that doesn't have much room to go up.
good luck,

you must be looking at a different description of the L39 then what I have..to say its the same other then size as the M59 is incorrect. And it has the same options..

Nope Same one. :) Acualy all thay did was add the option the L39 already had to the M59. ;) tilt steering , auto level , side panel display. sure it lifts a little more. digs 12 foot that no one needs. and weighs alot more. and a price way to far in left field for what you get. and now you have the towing problem. its just getting out of the compact market all together. but a nice tractor. by all means. if you have 55000 you dont need. buy one. But you ant going to do much more with it. and alot of things you cant because of size. and weight ;) your pocket will just be a little lighter.....:D

yes they changed the display to the side panel. all the other options you listed are not new..and the L48 has that. Does the L39 have a creep mode while you are operating the backhoe..no you have to spin the seat or reach around and try to move it without it cutting off..does it have the same height floor board from the front to the back? No..does it have the guards on the stabilizers? no. does it have Auxiliary Hydraulic Valve and Thumb.
Kubota's optional auxiliary hydraulic control valve and hydraulic thumb give you greater versatility when working with the backhoe. The M59 reduces installation time with a built-in thumb bracket as standard equipment. the list goes on and on..dont downplay the differences they are not the same..if it cost too much for you just say it..don't say they are the same, and that the reason.

you may have a towing problem if you are using a 1/2 ton..if you have a dually you wont have any problem towing 8400lbs even 10k

The creep problem has long been over come. thats an easy fix.
as for the hydraulics on the hoe. that can be installed easily.
as for ground clearence on a job site. just what do you want to climb over..LOL , I think its and awsome machine. if thats what you need.
by all means buy one. then post pictures for us....:D but you say you
already have a L48. sounds like you are the one trying to justify the expence.
but since you have a L48. that is already a nice machine. seems like a waist of money to get a M59. but that only my opinion. and i wish you the best.
and i hope your happy with it. and as i said. please post some pictures for us.
I wish you only the best of luck in your indevor.

There is a term for when the extra whatever is not worth the incremental price.....law of diminshing returns I believe.......and that to me is the case of the M59. It is an excellent machine that unfortunatly costs too much, more than smaller and cheaper machines will do already other than few "once in a while" tasks. Kubota should have restyled the L48 with a similiar price. Who can now afford the large Kubota TLB?? I could barely afford the L48, and the M59 is a stretch probably beyond most peoples/ co.s ability to afford. $50 Gs is alot of $$$, possibly difficult to get the needed return on the investment. Here is a thought, I wonder how much more productive the M59 would be in comparison to a L48 on some or most tasks. Say digging, will the 6" increase depth matter? Lifting, will the ability to pick up bigger things matter when the L48 picks up everything and a full bucket everytime? Mowing, no need for extra HP as both machines will spin mowers too big to trailer....and on and on. Dare I mention the things the M59 will do better. Probably not cause it will make me want one! In a nutshell:Excellent machine, too much $.

FYI,

ABrannan, I bought a second L48 barnd new without backhoe and I know the M59 can be ordered the same way. I have existing BH1100 hoe with 1st, but I know of some people buying M59s without hoes and no intention of ever getting one. I don't know why as these machines are reknowned for their backhoe performance (as you must know owning a L48) and the machines superior hyd. performance is specifically to provide excellent power for the backhoe. Are you going to sell your L48? My trade in value was so low it was cheaper and wiser for me to by another L48 brand new no hoe than to upgrade to the M59. JD 110 3pt. hitch option is $700!!!!

You forgot to add the weight of the trailer. Add another 4K for a 2 axle 12-14K trailer. 12K trailer probably won't do it. A 12K trailer with my L-39, filled tires, fuel, chains & binders and an extra bucket was barely legal. That eliminates most 3/4 or 1 ton bumper pull set-ups.

I have towed alot more then 12k..with no problems.

CORRECT!
I have an 07 Dodge SRW 3500 diesel, pulling a Bri-Mar 18 ft, 12,000 gvw trailer in which the trailer with tool box weighs in at 3200 by it's self. Then add my L48 with various gadgets depending on what I am heading to do and the tractor avg's 8200 lbs. I can pull it OK, however, I can't get legal because my trailer is too short, stopping me from adjusting the weight. I go through the local weigh station all the time, and they don't bother me. They do come out and check that I have a chain on all four corners plus the hoe and not using straps. At the time, 18 ft is all that Bri-Mar had. Now, they have a 20 ft'r and this, is still too short as I can't manuever for legal weight

Not sure I understand your point?

All I said before was

Most people don't have a truck like yours and if you read the owners manual of most 3/4-1 ton pickups, even duallies, they're limited to less than 14K off the bumper. And that's with a weight distributing hitch and very little weight in the truck iteself. Most guys won't be able to tow an 59 behind the typical dually pickup unless they have a gooseneck set-up. ;)

I'm actually surprised your truck squats that much. What is that a 350, 450 or 550? Nice truck !
