Kubota B7500
I have never bought a tractor at a dealer, my last one was bought privately. Does the same deal negotiation go on at a tractor dealer as happens at an auto dealer? Looking at a B2601HSD and received a quote. What advice can this forum provide? Thank you!

Generally speaking, yes. Especially if you have a trade-in. Some dealers will give you something off the bottom line. Depends on supply/demand, what model you are buying.

How about implements? It’s been a while but I “was told” I got a bit more of a discount at the time, I added a grapple and third function kit to my tractor order. I was paying cash at the time but no trade in.

The dealer I went through, he had the prices all openly displayed, on a marker board in the lobby, and on his website, and that is the price. Maybe you can get a small discount on the 3rd function Labor install, but the tractor, and the kit are what they are.

He also is kinda directly competing against a very similar dealer about 1h30m away, and they are both virtually identical on prices.

Trade-in, yes, you can see what they will give you, but used tractors, he's gonna want to make a profit off of, and there probably is very little wiggle, maybe 3-5%. Used machines often don't move quickly, and it costs them money to sit there, so...

Impliments; the package deals can be OK, but be sure to look at what is actually included. Some have been know to throw a light weight 48" bb in a package deal with a 35hp tractor; which should be using a 72" BB.

Every dealer different of course, but I have found tractor dealers more geared to all in pricing and cash sales with no nonsense versus car dealer games and added on junk fees and games. Can still buy on a handshake in some cases.

Where there may or may not be savings is conventional vs 0% intrest loans. My dealer had the option of doing like $22,999 at 0% or $20,500 with conventional fiancing (or cash). Of coarse if you do cash, you won't need their insurance.

I know your shopping Kubota specifically, and they are their own bank, as well as their own insurance company, so I doubt you'll do better than their loan.

I recently purchased a new Kubota. I called 5 area Kubota dealers and told each what I wanted and that I was seeking the best deal. 4 came in pretty much the same price, one came in a couple grand less. I paid cash and all knocked around $3K off of price for paying cash. I got tractor insurance from Farm Bureau for around $170 a year through my home owners.
