New Kubota with DPF Filter

Love my present L4200GST which has been serving me will for 19 years now, however I like the new upgraded features of the newer L5060GST model (all accept the DEF emission system of course) and I would certainly order it with more hydraulic outlets front and rear.

I had an L4200 with front-end loader about 18 years ago. It was a great tractor........ powerful for it's size, reliable and trouble free. That was four tractors ago. Had to go bigger to handle duties here on this old 300 acre abandoned farm. It may be a long time for me before upgrading again. It'll be interesting to see where things go from Tier-4 Final EPA emissions. Especially, as it seems the new administration wants to loosen up on EPA restrictions (whatever that means).

Yeah, you don't want to buy anything with any new technology or advertised improvements because it's never going to work or last like the old stuff. Like cars in the 50s and 60s that were wore out by 60,000 miles and tires that got maybe 10,000 miles and them 8 track tape players. Course these ole modern auto transmission cars with 200,000 to 300,000 miles and tires that get 40,000 to 60,000 miles are a fluke. NEVER GO NEW, DIFFERENT OR ADVERTISED IMPROVED because they are made to self destruct soon so you have to buy another one!!! :shocked:

What do old cars have to do with a DPF filter immission system of Tier 4 tractors? :confused3:

I and others don't necessarily think it is a "new and improved system". Certainly not improved! :thumbdown:
More like problematic.

Could be why so many are shopping for low hour, pre-Tier4 tractors. :thumbsup:

20+ Kubotas?

I have no need to trade tractors that often. I only trade if I have a need for something different. Three different tractors in 60+ years is all I needed. Each severed it's purpose. However, if I do purchase another one, it will be my fourth and last tractor purchase. Unless of course it "self destructs", which I doubt it will.

It appears the emissions warranty on the Kubota ZD1511 is "3000 hours of operation or five (5) years of use, whichever first occurs" according to the warranty information. I will confirm this with the dealer prior to purchase if I want to go ahead with the deal. If true, this helps to reduce existing DPF anxiety, but it does not eliminate it.

Emissions warranty lengths are defined starting at the bottom of page 14 and continuing on page 15. It also covers the equipment covered. Some of the items covered under emissions might surprise some folks.

Yes, that is where I found the emissions warranty. Actually, the clause covering the 1511 is on top of page 15 which states "The emissions warranty period for all other engines not already listed is 3000 hours of operation or five (5) years of use, whichever first occurs." That is the way I see it. I agree it covers quite a lot of parts.

Looks like 6 years 2000 hours Limited Warranty http://www.kubota.com/warranty/KubotaLimitedWarranty.aspx (Almost everything with warranty says limited warranty) on my L. If circumstances change, I may not have it that long and if circumstances stay the same I may still have it that long.
Love you "old guys" that don't want anything new and if it worked for Grandpa it'll work for you. I've tried many cars and trucks and Kubotas over my life time and I appreciate "new" and improved. I know, there are always those that say it ain't improved because it .......well, not sure why many people say that but I've known a bunch of you for almost 70 years.

I like helping keep the economy going and helping provide jobs for those guys down in Georgia and Kentucky and Tn and Alabama and yep, even helped Detroit workers and Ohio workers a lot over the years.
I also like buying and selling real estate and increasing the size of acres I maintain. Got rid of about 5 acres and gained another 28 acres. Been doing it almost all my life. :cool2:

I think you are choosing to take what others are saying out of context but so be it.:confused3:

If you are old enough to remember when 2 cycle bus and truck exhaust Always clouded the intersection after the light changed to green, then you remember just how bad diesel exhaust can get..., cleaner now than it used to be... But it can Never be too clean. that soot is not only hard to see through, but it's also not good for anyone's health... if it costs You a few thousand to remove it from Your exhaust you are protecting someone, your kid's, grand-kid's,neighbors, friends and a Lot of folks you will never have the opportunity to meet... you may even be trading a few thousand now for your own cancer in the future. If you can't see it as a positive change for how you operate your daily life... look at it as doing Something to keep those you love alive and healthy just a bit longer.
I'm sure you remember all those that wouldn't bother to see the advantage of removing Lead from gasoline exhaust... We are just Fortunate enough to live in a country that will Force us to cut back on poisoning ourselves. KennyV
