New L2501 seems really loud! Suggestions?

Well I have the opportunity to trade up to a L3301. So what's ya'lls opinion.... spend another $3,000 and get a L3301 which is quieter or keep the L2501?

What would you do?

The measurements I've seen on YouTube are 86-92 dB at the operator's ears. I wearing ear muffs all the time.

I just sold my L3200, which is pretty much a L2501. I upgraded to a L4060 mostly for the cab. If I could have gotten an OEM cab for the L3200 i'd still have it. I dont think that $3k would buy you much except complex emissions gear that will quiet it a little. I generally used hearing protection on the L3200 & do so on ANY open station tractor.

When I bought my 2501, I knew it is the entry level, economy model of the L series. The noise level is just a tad more than my old 3400 but not $3K worth of noise.....

Operated my new L4060 for a while this evening. Noticed an odd hot smell. Not sure if it's a DPF artifact or just new engine paint heating up, curing and/or burning off. Not horrible, but definitely odd compared to normal diesel exhaust smell.

Does it have kind of a sweet smell? I think that's the exhaust smell after going through dpf. In my opinion it's better than the really oily Diesel smell.

I ran my L3301 last night for a few minutes testing the backhoe (relearning my operator skills!). The L3301 is so much quieter. And the exhaust doesn't choke me. Backhoe tractors sit a lot and have a big cloud of Diesel swirling around you get old quick.

How you like the new L4060?

So far I'm liking it. The cab is nice in this weather, but does make getting on & off a bit slower. It's definitely a lot nicer & sturdier machine than my old L3200. It's a bit big for my property (5 acres), but I justified the upgrade because I'm spinning up a side gig doing tractor work.

Oh cool! Didn't realize it had a cab. Yes very nice! You can do a lot on 5 acres. And a big tractor gets it done faster! (0:
