Any chance you could post detailed pictures of the rear remotes? I want to add a set to my l45 and I need some inspiration.

I'll see if I can get some better pictures for you, I also asked the dealer for all of the installation instructions in case I ever have to diag or change something down the road.

Sweet. Looks cozy in that shed. Like a dog curled up on a rug.

The B2650 backhoe used to stick out a bit and I worried somebody would back into it while turning around, since the L45 is four feet longer I figure I better swing the boom, which seems to be pretty flush with the front of the shed. It would also make it more difficult for anybody to take anything out of there without considerable effort, like the implements.

Thanks everybody.

This is the model I should have started with, you can tell just by driving around it has considerable more power and weight than the B2650 which should be more useful for me. I took it for a spin into town tonight and pulled a couple small 8-12" stumps at a friends place to try it out. The controls are much better and faster, being able to spin the seat around and not get off the tractor is nice. The lever to reposition the tractor while using the backhoe is great, saves reaching over the seat to push to pedal with my hand. The canopy was something I didn't think I'd like, but after a bit of use in some rain it seems like it's a welcome feature. I am going to have to buy or make a tool box and a chainsaw holder as well.

One thing that seems odd to me it the position of the hydraulic thumb valve, you need to use the heel of you boot to use it because it tipped so far away from the seat, maybe it can be adjusted, it is not a natural position like it could be if it was tipped towards the user.

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Yeah, you will LOVE this machine. It's amazing how much more machine it is compared to a normal L series and compared to the B you were used to it really is "no comparison". The Kubota TLBs don't get a lot of love around here, but as a productive machine they are hard to beat.

I have the hoe off mine right now. I used my York rake to prepare an area to plant grass. I'll then use a drag to roll the seed in and swap on the brush hog to do my 2nd field mowing this year. It's awesome having a construction grade machine that is still capable of "farm" activities.

Good point, just liked the idea of no tools needed to change buckets, I'm sure the more you do it the fast and easier it will get.
I have a socket and ratchet that I leave in the toolbox on the tractor. All that is needed.

Here are a couple pictures of the rear remotes. I also have the PDF of the installation instructions if you PM me your email address I can email them for you.

I also took some time and adjusted the foot control pedal for the hydraulic thumb, there is a threaded rod that can be lengthened to change the angle back towards the seat. As it arrived it wouldn't allow full travel in one direction and could only use my heel to push it, it was very awkward. Now I can rest my foot on the pedal and just rock it back and forth as expected. There is some more adjustment available yet, but as it is now there is a bit of clearance under the pedal when fully depressed to allow for any dirt or debris that may get onto the platform, which happens.

That's likely what I'll do, but need to get a tool box mounted up first. I have a 16" and 24" bucket, I'd like to get a ripper and a grading bucket later.

Can somebody with the wedge style quick change bucket show me what is supposed to hold this pin in place? There's no holes that I can see to put a bolt through, and it's not the same as the type they use in the thumb instructions or parts diagrams, so I'm assuming it was supposed to have holes and doesn't.

I also can't understand why the mechanic putting it together doesn't know that something has to retain the pin or it will come out with use. It would be like if you went to put the wheels on a new car at the dealership and the nuts were missing, so you just set the wheel on the studs and say it's ready to go and hope for the best.

Are you sure there is no hole in the pin for a roll pin or bolt?

The only holes I see are for grease zerks on the thumb, and there's no holes in the pin to line up with those.

The quick coupler Kubota shows in the instructions has a bolt passing through the coupler to retain the pin. I sent an email to the dealership with some pictures and will have to wait and see what they say tomorrow.
