My dad was stationed at EAFB when I was growing up. He use to say the same thing about being in the middle of nowhere, but we could get to the ocean, the mountains and eastern Sierras in no time. I have fond memories, but not of the wind!
Poway is much like you say. I will have to ask my neighbor about the bar. I know they like a place called Renegade? for dancing. I still have 3 kids at home, so we don't get out much yet.... Thanks for the welcome!
