A "thread" is internet-speak for a TOPIC. Select the proper forum to place your question in, like this one is a forum for Husqvarna discussion, near the top of that forum is an oblong button that says "New Thread". Click on that and fill in the fields; title to state initial issue/question you have and then the body of your message in the large reply rectangle below the title area.

Thanks again Egon!
I do have another question about my deck ...
I finished mowing the backyard the other day and parked the mower on a flat surface and connected the water hose to the quick-connect area of the deck, water turned on and engaged the blades ... but I didn't feel any water was going through the nipple and into the deck?
When I had used it before, I could *definitely* tell the water was being flung everywhere inside the deck by the blades but this time it didn't sound/look different and there was only a tiny trickle of water from the area under the nipple, nothing seemed to be flung up and into the deck to rinse it of clippings.
I checked it (w/out my glasses on) it didn't appear to be clogged, but it must be. How can I fix that? I have an air compressor with hose and attachments available to me. I don't know how to work all of the attachments but I regularly use the tire-filler and the directed air nozzle.

I'm not familiar with the water flush system but:

Can you work a wire or screwdriver through it to clean.

Can you reach underneath where the opening is and clean that out? A scraping tool of some kind really helps. [ie. putty knife. stick of wood]

Wear goggles/gloves when using the air nozzle.

Several 2x6 in. planks that are blocked up at one end that you could drive one set of wheels onto may give you a little more clearance to look underneath. If you do this don't place any body parts underneath.

An inexpensive floor jack with a couple of stands could also be used and would be preferable. This allows you to jack up one end of the unit, secure it on the stands and be able to access the underparts.:D

Thanks Egon!
We have some scrapwood and can build a graduated ramp to fit the tire-width. We have a 3-ton floor jack, but I suspect that may be too large to fit under the mower to lift it. We also have small and large jackstands.
Maybe we could use the scrapwood ramps to raise it enough to get the floor jack underneath for higher lift and then use the jackstands for steady support while checking and cleaning under the deck.

I'll definitely check by poking a wire, blowing compressed air and using a scraper to remove 'stuff' from under the deck. I bet that is what my problem is, due to all that grass having been wadded up under there. We bought a 90 degree fitting for the zerk-grease-gun and I'm good-to-go in that area of maintenance. We do use eye-protection as my husband is the Safety Officer at his power plant and those safe habits have carried over from work to home.
Thanks again for all your help.

You can also dig a hole for the floor jack.

You could buy some aluminum ramps that you would drive your car onto if you were to change the oil. Just drive the front 2 wheels onto the ramps and set your parking brake and 'choc' the back tires to prevent roll back. I have a small Cub Cadet that I use to mow with and it seems I have to scrape my underneath deck surface every other time I mow. I've found that a 1 inch wood chisel works great or a small pry bar used for pulling nails. I am able to disconnect my deck and belts and slide it out in less than 1 minute now. Make cleaning it alot easier. Just spend a couple of hours one Saturday reading the owner's guide and trying to see how it disconnects. It seems to me that the newer "suburban lawn tractors" are pretty much all made by MTD or other manufacturer then a different name plate is slapped on the hood. They all appear to work roughly in the same way! Grab a socket wrench, release the tensioning pulley, remove the belt from the drive pulley, lower the deck to the lowest position, remove the deck lift pins on the height selector, move the height selector to the highest position, turn your front wheel to the L or R, then grab one side of the deck and slide it out (with some finagling around the front tires) and voila!!!

Well, I guess we *could* dig a hole ... but then I'd be afraid my 'vette would fall into it! :confused2: (1978 Silver Anniversary)

And Rx ... You're scarin' me!

I had a "duh-moment" reading your reply. I have a pair of low-profile ramps for the 'vette and I bet those'd work on the mower just fine. They're on the top shelf in the garage, but easily accessible. I don't want to mess with bolting/un-bolting, I don't think I've got the energy or the strength for that. I'll have to suffice with a thick, folded blanket on the floor, maybe the mechanic's dolly, a flashlight and either a wood slat or a short handled chisel.
We've had rainy weather with thunder and lightening here so I've been unable to mow or test out the water fittings on the deck but as soon as I can mow, I'll be giving these suggestions a try.

You *know it* Egon! :D

Mowed yesterday and all went well. I used the pneumatic air blower to clean dried grass out of the fitting and the water worked just fine to flush everything out. I had no clumping issues and that was NICE!
