New Member -YM 1700 transmission dipstick length

Hi all,

Bought a 1700 a couple months ago as my first tractor and have enjoyed getting to know it.

My transmission dipstick is missing and i'm wondering if someone with a 1700 could measure the dipstick and respond with specs i could then use to glue a rod into the cap i have

unless there's some reason i absolutely should buy a used one from hoye for around $30

i suppose theres a chance the dipstick is down in there somewhere, so im planning on fishing around with a retrieving magnet first...

ive had a slight issue with the hydraulic system so it would be nice if i could at least check the level

I believe there were two styles of caps. One with, one without dipstick.

To TBN from Alabama. If yours is without the dipstick, then I would think that getting one with a dipstick would be very easy.

Part #194150-24290 is 33mm x 184 long. Translates to 7.24409". I measured my 2002D dip stick 194190-24290, 33mm x 157, 6.1811". The 157 measurement on my dip stick is taken from the very bottom of the plastic screw in part to the very end of the dip stick. Starting at the very bottom of the dip stick and coming up about 11/16" is cross hatched and indicates approved level. Hopefully someone will measure the 1700 dip stick for you so there will be no question.

The 1700 and the 2000 use the same DS. This is my Ym2000. If you remove the Rubber Washer It's 8". Or 23 cm.

Guessing it is also 184mm from the bottom of the thread area. Everyone probably already knows this but the level is to be checked with the dipstick resting on the threads and not screwed in.

Could be that's why I measured it in CM. also. I'm not good for anything much over 21 using my pointer. I run out of Fingers and Toes you know.

Looks like the one on my 276D. Don't know if the length is the same.
