New MX5100

On mine, if I push the lever either way it will stick in that dirction. The lever is not being restricted on either side of the cowling but takes a great deal of pressute to mive in either direction and then it sticks. Does that sound like yours?

Generally, my remotes will return close to the center position, but the side of the lever rubs against the plastic cowling which causes enough friction to prevent them from returning totally. So they tend to be bit leaky. I use my two remotes for top and tilt on the 3 point and over the course of 10 minutes or so the position of my links will slowly drift. I am constantly having to re-position them. I am hoping that once I get eliminate the friction from the levers that will go away.

Are they Kubota TNT? I don't think they are supposed to drift so maybe search that situation or start a threat if the question isn't answered to your satisfaction.

I am not having a problem with the cylinders. The valves that the dealer installed are leaking because the rubbing lever arms are preventing them from returning to center. They are Kubota original valves. Sounds like you may be having a different problem. Have you tried spraying some silicone around the valve at the base of the lever arm?

Mine are fairly stiff, my 2nd remote sometimes needs a nudge back to center but it really has not bothered me enough to do anything with it.

I have two sets of remotes. The second works fine but the first definately has a problem and it probably takes 12 lbs of pressure to move it in either direction and then it sticks. Not light but a hard stick and will not return to center unless I give it a 5 or 7 lb push. I tried spraying WD-40 as well as oil but no dice. You never know but I think it's just a malfunction.

Yeah. That sounds like you should have your dealer take a peek at it. Something is not right there.

Two things...the dealer replaced the first set of remores. It took a bear to work the lever and thankfully I have a great dealer that ordered the part in advance and I was out the door in an hour. Didn't even finish my coffee or finish looking in the lot.

Tractor is still super but I found one minor downside. The rear axle lock lever you push on with your right heel is too close to the throttle pedal and does not have a rounded edge. As a result, I nearly screwed up the heel leather on a nice pair of boots that had started to get abraded by the lever. Solved it with a piece of soft hose that fit over the end. The L4300 has more room and someone with bigger boots than my 10 1/2 might have a snug fit in an MX5100.

Hit 47 hours so changed the oil and filter and changed the hyd trans filter (only) as instructed. Here's a photo of the hyd filter with the typical Kubota metal "dust" and no machining curls. Used 15w40 Mobil and Kubota filters. At 100 hours or so I'll change the engine oil again with synthetic oil and dump the hyd oil and change the filter again. Still love the tractor and impressed at the power it has and the heft of the front axle. With a 1200 lb Brillion seeder on the back it barely budges yet my L4300 used to bob and weave up and down. I dare say again, the MX5100 is the best compact tractor I have ever owned. Oh, I really like the transmission speeds as well as the F-R synchro lever on the left. It makes it easy for my purposes.
