New point and shoot camera, what to get?

I've had nikon and canon, and really like the canons. I like ones that take regular AA batteries, because I can get them anywhere, however, all the new ones have rechargeable only batteries. I also use Irfanview to resize and rename pictures. I use the batch mode to rename the photos putting the date of the photo into the name.

Had 4-5 different brands of under $100 cameras in the last 5 years, all break for one reason or another, I just assume they are throw away cameras :confused2: so we throw them away and get another under $100 one, currently I have a Olympus and its held up little loger than the rest. Long as its rechargable as opposed to using batteries we are semi-happy :dance1:

We also had several brands of cameras, all of them worked at first, the HP and Cannons all died after a year or so, the Samsung has been going strong for almost 5 years now! An old Casio was pretty good but heck that was late 90's and shop camera. I broke the battery cover dropping it down the steps still worked tho!. The samsung I got because the flip phones worked well and held up great, on my 3rd phone in 15 years is all! 1st one was 5 years old & popped it off the belt clip && hit concrete and popped open right as I stepped onto it. The 2nd one (first convoy) still works, but I upgraded to the convoy2 (now 4 or 5 years old same battery!) It last for close to a week for me running 24/7. It has been a survivor, worst was fell off hood of tractor popped open as I was going down hill skidding a log. Log drug it to bottom of hill I hit brakes but couldn't stop with the 20' oak pushing me down Dug phone off from under it figured it was done, wiped off the dirt and back to fully functional. Have run them thru washers, creek dunking and into toilet 2 different times... Yep got washed off after both of those dunks too lol...

Cameras in the phones are almost as good as the stand along one which is probably hwy it has lasted well...

I never had a camera break. I upgrade because they get better speed/pixels/zoom/smaller for a good price. I still have an aps camera with film still in it.
